$70 for the pair on TFsource. That's not bad if they're deluxe sized. Not far off the price of a deluxe-size figure from Takara.

Saw that at TRU yesterday. To be honest, "That's Springer!" is not what comes to mind. I only see it in the color, honestly.

That does look rather good - and also the name "Power Mech" rather appeals to me.

I think if Kreo got away from the skeletal look of Movie and Prime, which it leans towards, their robots would look a lot better.

Something struck me today. There are three things I'm rather surprised no 3rd Party company has dabbled in yet:
War Within Beast Era Gobots

I've manged to stay away from 3p stuff, but I am very tempted by the Throttlebots, and curious about the gestalt. I love Throttlebots and always wished for better toys. Still, the price might just save me from temptation :-)

Like Pete I've always had a soft spot for the Throttlebots, presumably because of their comic battle with the Scraplets but also because they appeared in The Return of Optimus Prime, a VHS tape I got when I was 7 or 8 that I watched rather a lot. Grind Rod/Rollbar appeals to me. A lot. Robotkingdom still has him in stock, and cheaper than most online stores. $60. £38. 3 times the price of a regular deluxe, but if these guys were Botcon exclusives I'd snap them up. There are no proper TFs coming out that interest me. I had my eye on one new Lego SW set that I have already been lucky enough to acquire cheap. I think I might go for this. If anybody else wants one and wants to combine postage, send a PM. -Nick

Just pre-ordered the first Mastermind Creations not-Predacon, looks glorious! I am also sorely tempted by Grindrod (and Hardbone, lolol)

I have some advice for the TW throttlebots...
If the toys interest you, but you're not comitted to getting the entire team, wait until your favorite throttlebot comes up. I think everyone who's interested in third party TFs deserves to treat themselves to at least one of these guys.

I am sooooo unbelievable tempted by the Third Party Throttlebots. Very VERY nice looking toys. AND a combined mode!!! But, sadly, I must not give in to temptation. There's just toooo much other stuff that I want to buy in the next several months.
So please give us full reports Nickos!
And Dezzeh please keep us informed of the Not-Predacons and what you think of them. I agree they look sexy as hell.

They've shown the combined mode somewhere? I haven't seen any throttlebot passed "Aurora" (the second one)

No sign of it so far, but it's out there apparently. I imagine it'll be similar to the Gobots combiner Puzzler, with Wide Load as the lower torso and thighs. Since Rollbar/Grind Rod, the team leader in the Marvel comics and card-back continuity, has already been revealed as a leg, I suspect head duty will fall on Goldbug, whom I also expect to be the last one released.

Hey,
At least getting the not-throttlebots means I won't have to worry about which version of Bumblebee to get :-) I've always prefered Goldbug anyways and was sad to see him go in the Underbase saga

Yeah, only seen the two legs so far, though that alone is almost enough to tempt me, I'm just hoping I can find a Grindrod in April when I have the spare cash for it.

But they have shown the sillhouetes of the other Throttlebots, and I noted with some sadness that Wideload will not be a construction truck, but what looks like a pick up. Just so long as he's orange :-)

That's a shame, but understandable as they'd want to keep the six figures roughly in-scale. It probably made the combined form easier to work out too.
As you say, so long as he's still orange (with a blue bed- always thought that was important). Also, let's hope that Goldbug uses a different mix than traditional gold plastic! I don't want an expensive figure like that exploding a few years down the line.
Order placed. Should be here in a week or so.

Busy day! Fans Project Weirdwolf, Brainstorm, AND Breakdown!
I'm so broken. Never cared at all about stunticons, but I'm going to end up getting them because Breakdown just looks neat. I can't back off on the headmasters either. Weirdwolf being a beast means I'll end up with him, and I've always loved Brainstorm. genious and neat fantasy jet.

I can hardly think of anything right now after the MP Prowl news, but yes yes, Breakdown looks very very nice. I'm a fan of Menasor and the Stunticons, so I'm eagerly awaiting images of Motor Master and the combined form, which will be the clincher for me.
Please let us know what your findings on Rollbar are, Nickos.
