I've bought a few third party add ons recently and generally been very pleased with them - Armour for Classics Magnus, G1 Op parts en route and Protector & Sidearm ordered.
Which ones have you got?
And what would you like t see made?

How about new light up & missile launching weapons for Fortress Maximus ? Repro original guns are always in demand so I could see those working.
More new Targetmasters please!

I got the Powered Convoy armour in a trade for a loose set of Botcon 09 toys. I've never really felt the urge to open it up though ( I just really didn't want the 09 toys) so no idea if I'd like it or not.
I wouldn't have minded the Superion set if I could have gotten it for a not so crazy amount or if I felt any amount of add ons could truely improve the Energon combiners sufficently.
I am strongly tempted by the bruticus sets though, but I'm trying to avoid any big spends between now and MP Rodimus aside from Genration waves 3 and 4.

One of my oldest e-buddies, REDshift (ho ho, do you see) has begun developing some Targetmasters using rapid prototyping that can be bought on shapeways. He's made a post on the allspark here: www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74003He's got some cash flow problems (new baby, no job!) so hasn't been able to buy some himself to test but should they actually work, the model he's made can be developed into any sort of targetmaster attachments! At the moment he's made a shotgun and a chainsaw one. Also a Blueshift toy!

I have the Superion add-on set (bought at AA last year) and actually quite like it. What it does to the combined form fixes most of the problems I had with the Energon Aerialbots (issues with them standing up, lack of hands and very poor arm articulation) and I think it was a good investment. In the individual modes I am amused by the strong feeling of familiarity as far as where a lot of the parts go (Silverbolts new mid-wing mounted boosters especially make him look like he is suffering from VF-25 envy).
I didn't think it was a bad set at all, and I think it makes a big difference to the look of the combined mode.
Sadly I haven't been able to afford the Powered Convoy set, which makes both myself and my Magnus sad.

Never bothered with third party stuff. I'm waiting on fourth party stuff, so I can equip my toys with time travel tech. I want to send the Throttlebots through the fourth dimension of time, damn it.

More KO than 3rd party but..... I've also aquired the Headmasters set this year - Reviewed here - and the Fortress Maximus Master Sword set which includes the hilt for him to hold and the stand for God Fire Convoy to hold it. (Was the original Master Sword able to separate from the hilt?)`

I was interested in the armour until I realised that I'd be paying a lot of money to make my robot difficult to transform...

Oh yeah I have the Max sword, ta Nick. And the headmasers, Ta Matt.
I'd quite like the more G1 head from that add on set but I don't want the rest of it. Its the odd fansproject head that puts me off the armour. Same when the cliffjumper set came out, the head might have interested me alone but I wasn't going to pay for the rest. Hopefully WFC CJ will solve that problem. I've been wanting to test it with my Bumblebee but I can't find my really small screwdrivers.
I think I will get the Universe Hardhead Headmaster set though that think looks amazng in person.

I've never bothered with add-ons. Partly because of price, partly because unofficial items don't hold much interest for me. The Optimus accessory set that Phil mentioned in the first post is nice though.
I do have a couple of pieces from the Unicron.com Beast Machines accessory set which were oddly included in a collection I bought from eBay a while back. I say oddly because it seemed to be a British child's collection and that's not the sort of thing you'd expect to find in one. I've got Thrust's display stand and one of Cheetor's swords, neither of which I have yet matched up with my toys.

No I haven't transformed him back either! Tooooooo much trouble! I am a robot mode displayer though. Still really like the armour, despite it's faults. Love it infact.

I am intruiged by the Devastator that someone's doing currently. Keep seeing little bits and pieces about it. He should be MASSIVE by the looks of things (both in size and cost!).

I am aware of all three sets of armour, it is just that the Powered Convoy colours are the Diaclone scheme which is my favourite look for the mold that became Ultra Magnus so if I was going to get one it would be that one. I figure that the Classics Magnus and Prime are identical in terms of molding so what fits one should fit the other without any problems. I wouldn't be too worried about how the colours go in vehicle mode, it would spend almost all its time in humanoid mode anyway.(Pretty much like my existing Powered Convoy) Karl

The diaclone version doesn't do much for me, the Shining Magnus looks badass though.

They have done a very impressive job on the Protector armour. I do like the look of the vehicle mode and the armour mode doesn't look too bad.

Yes, Protector does look good doesn't he? I prob wont be getting him, 'cos I'm not a huge fan of Rodimus, but he certainly looks like a good set to get, good workmanship.

I'm more impressed with his gun emplacement than I was, but that isn't saying much! Still, for a third party item it is very impressive.

I really don't like it. Its taken Hot Rods already too chuncky and angular design and made Rodimus even more chuncky and angular. The two are meant to be sleek robots and vehicles.
