These toys with the giant ludicrous weapons remind me of the crazy days of late G1/G2, but minus the crazy colours.

They all look cool even the Diaclone one. Though i've never realised how much Ultra Magnus (even though it is WST sized) looked like a hulking brick that would put the Star Convoy to shame!

Plus if the headsculpts are anything to go by we can look forward to Ironfist, Pyro, Rotorstorm and Guzzle!

I was interested, but then I saw that the hands for the combined mode are separate pieces and this, being the main problem imo of the G1 figures, kinda defeated the point of any remake.

I think the hand can be stored in the figure looking at some pics but no one is confirming anything. I have ordered this though now apparently a Fansproject offshoot company is doing a version also.

I think most people's concern with the G1 figures is the lack of modern articulation. Yes the combined mode pieces are separate but they do act as add on weapons for the vehicle modes.

Hi guys
I'm still learning about all of this, and have a question about Igear.
What exactly are Igear products? They're fan made, right? I'm asking because I've been looking into getting a Takara or Hasbro Masterpiece Starscream and see that an Igear version is on the way. Is Igear stuff any good?
Thanks

They do non KO items too although they also tread all over Hasbros intellectual property.
Personally my least favourite 3rd party company, because of the actual Knock offing of real Transformers. Though I think they did the Gen Kup heads so will likely end up buying at least one of there products.

I have the Igeear MP Grimlock upgrade set which is of moderate quality. I have their Ark playset which is still in the box unmade as the connectors cannot hold two pieces together let alone the entire set. It requires a lot of work and glue to mae properly and then I wont be able to dismantle it afterwards so I'm keeping it till I get a house. The Kup heads are awesome.
They have been rather shameless knockoff merchants but I am looking forward to their upcoming original moulds. I already have their not-Seaspray and not-Huffer preordered and salivate at the prospect of LSOTW Impactor.

I haven't any Igear stuff, but my experience with these 3rd party folkes has been good. I've the Bludgeon upgrade head and sword set, which looks fantastic, and I've Warbot Defender, aka Springer, which is very well made indeed. Can't remember which company made Springer now.

So, five months on has anybody given in to temptation and started collecting?
I only found out about it this morning and so was all set to start purchasing in the heat of the moment, but I'm going to hold off for the time being, because the price seems a lot to ask.
Has anybody followed any progress of the Maketoys version? I'm not so keen on it because, unlike Hercules, it's sticking to the time-tested approach of having an awful lot of kibble (forearms, waist) to which the components are affixed.

I've seen a coupla pics here and there of the Maketoys version. Style wise it looks better! But apparently he's smaller. And you know how important size is.
I have not started collection Hercules. I'm very tempted, but the kids need new shoes and the down stairs toilet roof is leaking. I'm keeping my eyes on it though. I would dearly love a ridiculously huge 'Classics' Devastator.

I'm very tempted, but the kids need new shoes You didn't sell one of them in the end, then? Mind you, I'm childless so the issue of "expenditure for kids taking precedence" doesn't raise itself with me. Which has got me thinking that I could justify the expenditure as spending some of the money we've saved by choosing not to have children. You're not making this easy for me ... I suppose I really ought to think of getting the bathroom gutted. But then, £300 out of several thousand is nothing really. More and more temptation ... Yeah! That was what I wanted as a forthcoming Masterpiece and I haven't got my wish. I think I could die happy once I'd got my hands on this Devastator and Predaking ... but might they prove to be steps down a slippery slope? I remember thinking that I would never spend above £30 on a Transformer ... and then I got MP-01 as a "one-off" ... and then Megatron ... and then Grimlock.

Or rather, no anti-action-figure wife?! BUY HERCULES!!! And then tell us all about him! And then give him to me! For no other reason than you love me. Oh, and I tried to sell the youngest child, but Wifey put a stop to it. The police weren't too happy either. Oh well.
