I think the issue with 34 was them killing off a character Trailbreaker that something decent was finally being done with. I suspect they'll be back. I know Trailbreaker said the forcefiled would stay up for 30 minutes whatever happened, But I assumed him dying probably would be an exception to that statement so the fact it's still there when they teleport out left me thinking he wasn't dead dead.

Considering they used the same brain crunching effect that so traumatised James as a child you when Death's Head killed Shockwave you can be pretty sure he's a gonner.

I'm pretty sure that on Twitter James said that Trailbreaker was dead dead. But unfortunately I can't find that tweet easily for evidence.

No-one is dead dead in comics. And as for the sound effect, James is a master of misdirection. Why teleport the body away if you don't want to leave things uncertain?

Are you sure they teleported the body away? I'm looking at the issue and I only see Kaon and Vos teleporting away.

Ah, no, I was speaking from memory. That was just how I recalled reading it.

I'm looking..?
Finally got hold of a copy of #34. Cracking stuff but I've been ill in bed ever since reading it. The Power of James knows few limits it seems.

How many Unicron trilogy bots can you spot in that panel?

If you're a big fan of the Armada/Energon/Cybertron era, that panel contains about half the cast.

It's a cracking panel.
IDW - get Simon Furman to continue the Armada comic from where it left off. Give him a schedule of what toys came out when and tell him to work em in through to the end of the Cybertron. I have money for you.

Are the characters going to be named. I know they are just space filing by Alex, but we can't have then being called Ironhide, Jetfire - being the 2 main ones you spot from the preview.

So no-one's going to talk about the issue itself, or are you all too way too disturbed? Just like I am? (And see, here's me not actually talking about the issue either. ;-) )

Still loving Megatron. He's like the adult whose been made to sit at the kids table due to a seating error.
Except as he said, it was his choice.

He is hands down the best character in the book at the moment, the sharp contrast in place with the rest of the cast is enjoyable.

The new issue is out this week, isn't it? I'll need to swing by Nostalgia before I get the train to Swindon.

A good issue but my one problem is that the current story is rather like the previous one, though better and more enjoyable because the characters are more engaging. I enjoyed Rodimus in this issue, as well as Megatron, the former seeming to be liberated by the latter.

A great issue. It's interesting to see Megatron's revolution being presented as a good thing for the Transformers cause, rather than something the stalled their development. If Megatron is one of the bots to travel into the past, it'll be interesting to see how the young idealist will influence the war veteran and vise versa. Megatron may find a cause worth fighting for as a result of his journey. Incidentally, does anyone recognise the guy to the right of the image below? I thought it was Swerve's bouncer at first, but he is presumably a teetotaler as well (and doesn't have horns). Why has he been shot with arrows?

He said to the right!
Could it be uh... Stampede? Not sure who else has horns.

It is Swerve's bouncer! Whirl had been using it for Target Practice!
THe arrows are in it in 29 when we last saw him

Ah, yes. I haven't got the issue to hand, but Ten's TFWiki shows the arrows and notes how it isn't clear how he's been disabled. The horns must be background detail. Wall damage from the impact, perhaps.

Brainstorm did it on the way in to the bar, which was how he got the briefcase in against the rules?

I don't think it was ever explained how Swerve got Ten working again. He may have asked Brainstorm to help, and Brainstorm popped in a remote shutdown for just such an eventuality.
I must say, we're all being quite complimentary of Brainstorm's skills all of a sudden. He's gifted, but he's also dangerously incompetent- or at least very casual with regard to not blowing himself up. I've yet to see any indication that this lack of competence was a cover to hide his naughty ways. Speaking of which...
Do folks think that the new dystopian timeline is due to Brainstorm succeeding in his time travel shenanigans, or failing? Are the functionists still in charge because that's what Brainstorm set out to do, or has he cocked everything up?

I suppose it depends who Brainstorm really is. I can imagine he would be in favour of the type of world he created. Someone who consideres himself as important as he does certainly wouldn't being recalled or care that other are. It's possible hes one of the 13 council members, his knowledge of the old future might not be that useful but he would know a lot about how important figures behave, who would oppose or support the new future.
I honestly can't think what sort of future he would want to create, yes he might be a Decepticon spy, but doesnt come across as that loyal to the cause. Okay if hes pretending to be a good autobot, he wouldn't but theres been no signs at all.

Of course, the joke's on him as the last of the spacecraft TFs was gunned down at the start of this issue. How beautifully ironic would it have been if Brainstorm had changed his appearance but not his function, figuring the astro class were untouchable and possibly disabling his obsolescence chip just in case... and that was actually a time-lost Brainstorm who got deheadenated at the start of the issue Speaking of the start of the issue, it was established that obsolescence chips don't always work properly. Add in Dominus' surgery, and d'you reckon Rewind #3 is still alive? Possibly not very well, but alive? -Nick
