Titan sent me 2 copies in the post yesterday in the same bag. Also an e-mail so have to check which offer is best for renewing at #23.

Any mention of a rebranding for AOE?

Not yet but does have 2 page movie news showing new toys, 2 page movie recap cars, 2 page movie quiz,
Chris & Andres did a good job with TFPBH Tantrum.
#21 27/6/14 more movie news Optimus or Breakdown toy same Bumblebee one from #20 & also pack of trading cards & game mat - so expect #22/23 to be #1.
Now to decide which is the best deal 6 issue & 3 toys £21.99 [12 issues £40.99 & i'd guess the 3 toys too] or with secret code in e-mail - 4 issue £15.95 / 8 issues £27 [no toys?]
so thats av £3.66/£3.41 for comic offer & e-mail offer £4 / £3.37 per issue. so 8 issues for £27 is best deal but without toys. so are getting 3 unknown CV toys worth paying £3.40 an issue?
It does say Movie story in #21 but could just be 2 page extra recap.

Just correct above post due to credit error - write is Martin Fisher & not Chris Cooper. Hope Titan correct credit Martin on his next story.

When I finally bit the bullet and subscribed after finding issue 19 impossible to find anywhere (even on Titan's own website which- at the time, as I pointed it out to the man on the phone when I ordered it might have been changed now- was months and months out of date), the scroll down option on the menu of their site offering you the pick of which issue to start your subscription had the next one- ie what would be issue 21- as the start of volume 5.
Such a shame this book is no longer what it was, I genuinely think that at its peak it had some of Furman's more enjoyable modern comic writing in it. Hopefully with a film giving the chance to pump up sales we'll see a bit of oommmphhh back in it.

Furman is a great writer, but I honestly think he does his best work when his back is totally up against the wall, as with the Titan comic ("PUT ALL THESE CHARS IN IT! ALSO THE COMICS ARE REALLY SHORT!") Some of the UK b/w stories are my favourites, along with all the ones he had to find clever ways to fit around the US stories.

So that was the last issue of Prime & next issue is Movie 4. I would have expected one last issue then monthly from after the movie release.

The first volume was pretty darned good. The 2nd started out alright and then went downhill and it has never recovered.

With Prime making no traction at all in the UK, it's been hard to escape the feeling Titan have only kept the book going so as to have something more profitable they can put out next to the film, the whole thing has felt amazingly half arsed for a couple of years now.

It padding so they can keep the rights for the comic - but we have had some good moments in the comic if you ignore #4.15

Oh, the poster one? Don't remind me. Don't remind me!
Oh hell, you reminded me.
Actually, I did like them doing an underwater one just so they could call it Fury From the Deep.

I actually saw the TF Prime comic in WHS last week
What caught my eye was a boxed HFTD Seaspray on the cover.
I had a look at it and found a competition inside giving away all sorts of left over tat from the last few lines!

Just browsing the forums I was surprised to come across this. I have always bought the comic titles, but I genuinely thought the UK comic had died years ago when I could no longer find it in Smiths. I am utterly astonished to find it has staggered on this long.
So I looked in Smiths today to see if they actually did have it, and lo and behold they did. I was excited for a moment, then looked inside. Even my completist nature cannot bring itself to buy that. £4? that is a joke. The only thing that looked any good was the strip; the art was nice but I didn't read the story (hate people in newsagents reading comics).
So if this is Titan still printing it, do they do something sensible like publish graphic novels of just the comic content? I'd love to read those, but wow, no, I'm not buying that as a comic. It's abysmal - I'd have thought even if you were ten that would suck.

I know I will feel compelled to pick up the next issue though. Movie tat figurines on the cover and presumably a new #1 to tie into AOE.

Right, so if this kept going how long was Furman involved? And I remember Geoff Senior did the art in issue one of the first 2007 volume but I don't remember any after that - did he do any more?

Furman did all of volume 1. Not sure how much he did of volume 2 as I bailed a few issues in.
Senior just did one strip in volume 1.
Volume 1 was a proper comic. I enjoyed it.

I think he stuck around until the first Dark of the Moon strips and did the first 6 as I recall and then he was gone.

Simon did
v1 #1-25 v2 #1-9,11-14,18-21 all the others issues have been written by 3 writers
Titan have just been trying their best to keep the rights for the comic but without doing a monthly comic. Wasn't the 4th tpb ever printed?

Considering Prime as a whole has died a death in the UK I suspect Titan with have the sense to keep the AoE comic around a lot longer rather than rebranding for the new The Wonder Bumblebee cartoon so soon this time.

Nah, it'll change it's title as soon as Hasbro have something new to promote in TF4's wake.
Recent Hasbro Movie promotion has been in a smaller window that has previously been seen for the TF films. I'd not be surprised to see the Movie stuff over quite quickly!

I don't know, if the Movie does well they will keep it going longer. Tying in to Prime's sequel would be a bad move I feel.

I've been lucky enough to be passed on a digital review copy of issue one of AoE, I've not looked at it yet (as Titan include a threat of a Chinese burn to anyone who breaks the press embargo before the 27th I'm not risking my own inability to Not Keep A Secret and will thus wait till the last possible second before peeping), but the email with it confirms it's going monthly again, for at least the first five issues.
As they seem to be throwing some weight behind it with the promotion hopefully they'll be doing the same with the quality of the strip.

I didn't know if it was this week or next #1 comes out was going to check the comic tonight. But from the sounds of it we might have 11 pages in it this time. I've paid upto 5.8. If you look don't post any info until after 25th when it should be in the shops.
