Man...I'm so on the fence on these Generations toys!! I know I would be all for getting them if the stupid gestalt limbs had individual modes... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I was exactly the same, but thanks to Phil got to have a fiddle with some, and trust me, the Powercore combiners are absolutely amazing

Try here. Same mould, with modifications and new paint.

I like the look, but it REALLY bugs me that it looks like he has red eyes, not green eyes.

Interesting, interesting... The Power Core Combiners are a very cool concept... They take everything from the G1, to Energon to Armada "inter-active" range and bundle it up together.
That said - I STILL think it sucks that the drones are none-transformable. Even the simplest transformations would have been cool.
But I guess I shouldn't complain. These fun little Transformers are all somewhere along the lines of Super Robot goodness that I technically love about Japanese robot anime...
For some reason - also - I get a very big Transformers: Victory feel from these guys.
I'm thinking of getting these.
I'm thinking of giving up on being picky. The world of Transformers is vast. There is no end to collecting.
Maybe re-starting from the 2010 line wouldn't be a bad idea?
After all - after my first Collection-Annihilation back in 2004 (or thereabouts) - my first Transformer that I got as part of "re-starting" the collection was Armada deluxe Optimus Prime.
That was quickly followed by Hotshot and a few others, and crowned by Tidal Wave and Unicron.
I then picked up Commemorative Skywarp and Jazz for some TF G1 goodness.
I think that now that I've definitively closed my store, and don't have to worry about the huge financial burden associated with running a toy store...
I can just go back to ENJOYING my toys rather than worrying about them.
So - yeah - why not. I'll get all of these - the Generations, the Power Core Combiners, the Scouts.
Then I'll fill the holes with assorted Transformers from assorted lines, or wait for new ones as time permits.
Getting all dogmatic about it won't help.
There is - however - one rule that requires adherence:
When there is no money for NEW TFs - DON'T fall prey to the temptation to sell old ones.
Bad idea.
Here's to my future collection!

I'm not sure it's possible to pack vehicle mode and robot *AND* self contained limb - with necessary hole/connector - into that size.

Well - in either case - When I look at these all I can think of is "Gattai! Power-up-u! Transform! Victory!"
Because the Victory theme song was basically about how now TF is about three things really: a) transforming b) combining (gattai!) c) power-up
The Power Core Combiners feature gattai (combing), but since these are drones then it's also kind of like the Commanders Power Up.
In any event - I like it.
I hope the Generations line gives us more characters.

PCCHeavytread with Groundspike (who mounts on front like a train cowcatcher, Looks a bit like G1 Brawl) Skyhammer with Airlift (Gray jet orange mini-con, For him, when he combines he has a helmet goes over his regular head, is very much like Triggerhappy or Misfire from 87) Steamhammer with Constructicons 5 pack Grimstone (Slag coloured styrachosaurus [Killerpunch]) with Dinobots Want to place a bet that Steamhammer is a repaint of Sledge (wave 2 scout w Minicon toy) ?

Loving the paint scheme on Crankcase and the Destrons! (Sounds like a 70s glam rock group! I hate glam rock...). The black looks awesome. Still not convinced 'bout them generally though, hope they grow on me, I'm staying positive, but I'm sorry, what kind of name is 'Windburn' ?!!! Sounds like what happens after a particularly large trump!

I think my lack of interest in the PCC 5 packs is going to clash with my liking of the repainted 2 pack leader figures in them.

AAARRRGH!!! I saw Power Core Aerialbots and Combaticons, and a coupla other 'Commanders' in Big Tescos today, first time I've seen any 'in the flesh', and I can't beleive it! THEY'RE FREAKIN' TINY!!! The Commanders that is! Bombshock/Onslaught is a teeny tiny little Transformer for tiny mice people! Couldn't beleive it! I knew they were only scout sized, but when 'seen in the flesh' they look barmy small!
