Tenth anniversary of the Scotcon gathering takes place on the last weekend of November.
The 24th and 25th to be precise. We will be based in the Edinburger for convenience of travel, berth space and getting together.
More details to follow.

I've always intended to get myself to a Scotcon, but never been prepared enough to get myself to one, this time though I'm making plans, checking them twice and hope to set foot in the lovely country of Scotland for the first time ever!

I should be up for that.

The first scotcon gathering took place in 2002.
IF I can find it, there will be ONE copy of the Scotcon 2002 magazine as a prize for some activity or other.
Not a reprint, but my actual copy. Only four were made.

No there has always been a Scotcon, although I don't think anyone has a 100% attendance record. I've missed one, Ralph has missed one and I am pretty sure Karl missed one!

I think you are right. I don't recall which one it was, but I do recall not making one.

I flew back from Saudi Arabia for Scotcon 2010. That's commitment right there.
I can still make 2012 via Skype!

If I book into the same hotel as last time, near Haymarket station, will I be conveniently placed, or are we in another part of the city now?

Right, booked hotel and train.
Going to make this a decent holiday so booked in for four nights to my usual hotel in Haymarket, 23-27 Nov., so I can do the tourist thing on the Monday.

Flights booked for me and Mr Baker, I've attempted to book the B&B suggested by Tony, but its not automated, so waiting on a response - otherwise - Roll on Scotcon!
Yea - arriving Friday, leaving Monday in case anyones interested (via Edinburgh airport)

Going to see if I can make it this year. The availability of hostels will help the budget at least.

I will try and get the Friday and Monday off work, but due to draconian new corporate rules regarding annual leave won't be able to put in for it for a while.

Myself and Tony will be arriving Friday at 6.40pm and our Monday flight leaves 11.45am - Hopefully I'll get to catch up with everyone and see a bit of Edinburgh/Scotland at the same time!
