Ten years ago my local non-league side beat Swansea 4-2 in the FA Cup when he was manager there. We played Liverpool away in the round after that.

I'm not a massive football fan, but obviously being a kid growing up in England you have an ingrained interest and there's something special about this world cup that has really got me glued to the TV. I'm almost dating to believe we're going to the final!

Croatia were just the better team after half time, by a lot. Shame but no big surprise. Glad to see a team make it this far!

Croatia deserved the win as they were the better team in the second half and extra time in terms of skill and stamina.
They were also the team more keen on winning by pushing/shoving/grappling/fouling around the mid-third of the game. They did seem to get over that when they equalised but the ref let a lot of things slide that in previous games players (including England players) have been rightly pulled up on.

My one criticism of Southgate's approach - he needs to bring on subs earlier. He seems reluctant to do so at times.

For me the bigger problem was the choice of subs. Rashford doesnt offer enough to replace Sterling.i would have rather seen both on the pitch together. Kane was struggling all game so maybe should have come off instead.
Likewise dier just doesnt seem to be able to do what henderson does. Maybe comparing a player coming on as the team is struggling isnt fair, but dier has to at the very least slow the rot to justify coming on. I dont think he did that yesterday or against colombia.
In fairness this more to do with the strength of the b team. It might have been a different game if chamberlain had been fit for the tournament. And or another forward even close to kanes quality.
I bet the belians wish they hadn't beaten england, almost certainly would now be preparing for the finals.

The thing is Kane started dropping deeper into midfield at that point I would have brought Vardy on. He could have caused trouble. Vardy does hassle defences.
I'm glad that Belgium didn't, as they aren't a team equipped to beat France. Croatia, do actually have a chance.

So Fourth in the end.
Thought the team were a bit on the ponderous side in the first half. Kane looked like he was running on fumes the whole game. Sterling kept trying to get a goal at the expense of good chances. Looked so much better in the second half - Rashford and Loftus-Cheek in particular.
Pickford has to be first choice going forward now, the boy makes some fine reaction saves.
