Based on the two warm up games it was glaringly obvious that was what would happen, same as our warm ups showed we would get pumped, because Clarke wasn't a 3 centre halfs and two wing backs rather than a back 4.

I thought it was alright for a first game. Serbia are better than the pundits were giving them credit for.
Foden , for whatever reason, is being carried and at risk of being hooked. He doesn't seem to know what to do and the indecision is coming out in his first touch and passing. His desire to do well seems to have inhibited him and each underwhelming performance piles more pressure on.

Should have been 2 up front from the start, and a flat back four.
We should have had a penalty, but that doesn't take away from the absolute lack of ambition from Clarke.

Hah, missed both Spain goals last night, had to put something in the bin outside, came back and sat back down and saw they has just scored their second.
France had rode their luck and underperformed for a while, had enough chances this game, but finishing was woeful. I do detest the pathetic diving and cheating that Spain continue to do, unnecessary as they are good enough.

Good recovery after the early concession.
Netherlands huffed and puffed but never threatened really in the 2nd half. On this form, still not good enough to beat Spain.

Their only hope is a continuation of the performance curve they are on.
But that was at least enjoyable.
If Southgate would only make those subs a bit earlier. He might find it funny to give then just enough time to have one chance. Me not so much.
