Not had time. Maybe next week. I have taken the shrink wrap off the Blu-Ray case though.
It is a problem being able to clear a full 3 hours at the moment (a problem which will continue until the end of May).

Finally seen it!
Boring. Tedious. Pretentious. Leaden. Barely any action. Up its own arse.
By quite some considerable margin easily the worst worst Bond.
Fuck me sideways, what was the point of that incoherant wank??
Not even Hans Zimmer could be arsed with the score.
Just before Omicron, I had hoped this would be my return to the cinema (and also to Imax) but then Covid got silly again and I got the Fear. Had this have been my return, I would have been raging. Probably would have walked out.
Could easily have turned the blu ray off about 2 hours in if I hadn't been watching it with my wife. She quite enjoyed it so at least it wasn't a total loss.
1/10.
Blu ray gone straight into one of the bags of stuff to donate to charity.

So does this mean we can now finally talk about it?

Come now, it was better than Skyfall and Die Another Day.

One reason I loved Skyfall was I could ignore Casino Royale and Quantum, and pretend it was James Bond's next adventure (film number 21) after Die Another Day. It was the only Craig movie you could do that with. It even contained a reference to exploding pens (Goldeneye)!
But of course, the five Craig films together tell the story of a different James Bond to the one in the first 20 films, from his first killing and becoming a 00 in Casino Royale, to his final mission in No Time to Die.
The first 20 films told a story of a single character (who like Marvel comic characters doesn't age) with continuity references providing links between the films of all five actors in the role, from Connery to Brosnan. Dr No wasn't his first mission as a 00, Die Another Day didn't show him retiring.
Simon Mayo doesn't quite get it.
So what will they do next? At the end of the end credits in No Time to Die, it says 'James Bond will return'. How do you reckon they'll do it? Pick up the main Bond continuity where Die Another Day left off?
In the meantime I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like a spin-off series of Paloma movies...

She was the best part of that movie for me. A rare bright spot of high kicking fun that whole sequence.
I mean, I didn't hate the film, and I'm not the biggest Bond fan anyhow, so take my opinions with a pinch of salt. I like the idea of them all telling the story of one 00 agent, but I'm just more drawn to the fun stuff than the dark n gritty.

Pick up the main Bond continuity where Die Another Day left off? New actor will be new canon, same tropes. So new actors for M,Q and Moneypenny too. I suspect they'll plan a rough series of films following a big arc and potentially recast the lead if reception is poor, but stay within the multi-film continuity.

She was the best part of that movie for me. A rare bright spot of high kicking fun that whole sequence. It is a fun sequence, but it works on many levels. Huge amount of character and relationship development in 15 minutes of film taking place almost in real-time, beginning with their first meeting, Bond's lewd remark rebuffed by an "Ew, you're old enough to be my grandad" look, and ending with a handshake of total respect and professional admiration. The best moment though is where they take a 10-second break mid-battle to have a stiff drink together and then turn in opposite directions to get on with what they need to do, each trusting the other completely to do their bit based on just 10 minutes of working together. It's brilliantly scripted, acted, shot and edited from start to finish and does more to 'fix' any outstanding issues with 'Bond girls' than all the Bond family stuff. Martin

Watching You Only Live Twice on ITV4
Liz' world has been rocked by discovering quite how many of the Japanese speaking English are dubbed and that one of them is voiced by Fraser Hines!

The Living Daylights was on Council TV. It hasn't dated too well but the plane fight is still good and Dalton remains the best Bond.

I think Dalton is the closest to the Bond of the novels, although Lazenby could have been had he had more of a go.

I once heard it described as being the fact that Dalton's Bond is the only one of the screen Bonds you can see needing the services of the Service's psychotherapist... And I think there is a certain truth in that. Dalton's performance is the one in which you can see the struggle to avoid becoming entirely callous from the nature of the world in which you operate. He is really the only one where you can see the strain of the lies, betrayal and violence that he traffics in as an assassin of his government's enemies.

My favourite Bond is Moore but I think the best was Dalton.
My least favourite Bond is Connery but Goldfinger is my favourite of the films.
My Bond tastes are all over the place.
