So so far we are
Me Andu Ralph Nigel Mrs Nigel Martin ? Nick ? Matt ?
Anyone else?
Plan as per last year? Do the show for a couple of hours, nip off for a nice Pizza, and then back for more Lego? I won't double book myself this year!
Martin do you want to liase with Nigel and see if you can travel up together as he's got to come through Cardiff on the train and you're both doing it as a day trip?
As per usual we'll organise some food in the evening for those who want to stay for some.

I have some train vouchers I need to use up so I'm thinking of coming down if work and general funds allow.

There are railway works that weekend, so the train between Cardiff and Swindon takes 2 hours rather than 1 (diverted via Gloucester rather than going through Bristol?).
The 7.30 from Cardiff gets into Swindon at 9.23, I'll probably be on that one.
Are we expected to book Lego tickets in advance or buy them on the day?

yup, you're having a little trip up to Gloucester this side of the river and then down through the newly double line through Stroud and....... (waits for Ralph to explode) Kemble!

I must go to Kemble!
There is a booking fee (I thought they had been outlawed) for advance tickets so no cheaper. Thus I shall get a ticket on the door, like last year.

On the door it is.
We can do an excursion to Kemble by tain.
Actually, iirc, there's some decent scenery on that line from Stroud down to Swindon.
Martin: be aware that the train will reverse direction at Gloucester.

Is there an intercity bus option? Maybe not over such a distance so early in the morning, but you never know.

I've got my ticket booked now too. 7.30 kick-off in Brum on the Saturday, arriving in Swindonia at 9.25. Last train home on the Sunday.
Uncle Phil, do you have floorspace available or should I hit up Hostelworld?

I depart Swindon at 20.50, reach Gloucester at 21.39, hop a train to Booningum at 21.48 and arrive at Booningum New Strayt at 22.42. Anything later would mean a night in Gloucester- nothing against the good people of Gloucester, but it might make me late for my first departmental meeting on Monday!
On the way in I depart New St at 7.30, get to Gloucester at 8.20, leave at 8.33 and reach Swindon at 9.23.

Need to check the calendar, but put me in as a maybe as I do like Lego and pizza and it's only half an hour away. Will leave Bristol by car at around 9.15 for the 10 o'clock start.
Good enough reason as any to finally meet you all.

I'd enquire if the train from Gloucester might be held if the train from Swindon is delayed. There's no later service from Gloucs and no return train to Swindon.
One is concerned about only a ten min connction time at Gloucs.
