According to my Azzy (the owner and admin for the dinotopia board), the upgrade is mandatory. The most that can be done is to postpone it for a few weeks, which she said she's been trying to do. It seems we're far from the only ones having issues, and most proboards have been complaining about it.

Different machines on the same Internet connection would say otherwise. They running the same browser? I suspect some of the code is browser dependant. I get a lot of flicker on the mobile version. Lots of shoddy code exists that only runs on specific browsers. Either way the new proboards is well pants!

I find the desktop version is so-so, mobile version is pretty awful, almost like it was designed for older mobiles with limited browsers and could only scroll down not side ways (ie - viewing in landscape). If anything is slow to load its unlikely to be your computer, either proboards is suffering high bandwidth or a poor connection to your ISP, there aint much code being used in loading this forum. I had absolutely no issue on multiple browsers/machines/connections until version 5 went active. And that includes through the use of academic network connectionss which are unhampered by limited bandwidth in the same way commercial ISPs are.

If there are complaints from multiple boards then I suggest giving it a wee while to see how Proboards sort it out. I'd be surprised if there aren't patches for the problems soon.

I was just thinking one of the reasons that I might have had fewer problems is that we had to rebuild the computer late last year so everything is newish, could it just be people need to update to the newest versions of browsers/flash/adobe reader or whatever?
My only issue has been on my phone and thats not been updated for 2 years.

I've updated the os thingy on the Ipad and it seems to be working much faster. Still jiggered on Chrome on the desktop though.

I see no green arrow.
Forum works just like it did before on the Ipad now it's updated. i wonder if the problem is that it only works properly on up to date browsers?

That would suggest Chrome us up to date, unless you have set it so it doesn't auto-update.

Click on the the three black bars Ralph, and a menu will appear, can you go down to about Google Chrome. It will display the version number. Let me know what the version number is (copy and paste it into a reply)?

Hmmmm. Strange.
The forum still stutters a bit on the Ipad but nowhere near as much as before. Great. I had feared I was going to have to walk away from the forum.

After all the criticism I just thought I should say the new private messaging set up is far superior to the old one.

After all the criticism I just thought I should say the new private messaging set up is far superior to the old one. I am very much in agreement with this. I've meant several times to come along and say something positive about it, but usually end up so frustrated with something else that I forget.

I've got my editor set to BB Code.
Yet when I reply to text it displays the visual editor.
Anyone else replicate the fault before I report it as a bug?

ARGGGH! Stupid pro boards subverting the alt+D function on all my browsers.
Nearly as bad as the BBTS redesign that cocked up all the KB shortcuts.

What is Alt D meant to do? Move the focus (where you're typing) to the address bar. Try it. But not on a Proboards page
