Staggering that May is clinging to power. Amazed she survived the vote of no confidence.

Its simultaneously amazing that shes still in power but utterly unsurprising that she won the no confidence vote.
tories on all sides still think they can get their way without risking an election. And the dup are well....

Without the DUP who were bought off with our tax money she'd have been gone.
DUP are made to keep supporting her in their belief they will get a better deal out of EU by propping her up. The Back Stop is an EU red line and I doubt is going anywhere even if negotiations are reopened.
Deeply disappointing there were no rebels anywhere. Strictly party lines suggesting nobody was thinking about it really.
Also disappointing the debate yesterday was Brexit vote fall out rather than about the failure of the Tory government in other areas such as universal credit, growth of food banks, etc etc.

I realised I'd been staring at a computer screen too long today when I mis-read the BBC live update headline "PM to miss World Economic Forum".

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-46984747I did think that the Scottish Parliament must have had something pretty substantial on him the way they went after him. Didn't quite think it would be something quite as awful.

Surprised as well it is this serious. People who I know who had to work with him when he was FM told me he was a deeply unpleasant man but this is on a different level.
Saw an interview with Nicola Sturgeon yesterday and she was obviously quite displeased but also relieved she couldn't comment further as it was a live case.

Good on them I say. The more parties in UK politics the better. More choice for voters.

And they arent going to call bi-elections which is just BS. If they believe they increased their majorities (and labour its share) in spite of Corbyn prove it and send a proper message.
More parties/independents is great in theory but not with first past the post. If they really wanted to do this get the Tories out of power and get the election system changed then split.

Me too. I'm hoping Remainer Tories follow their example. Need a decent-sized party (or looser grouping/alliance) in the centre ground of politics as both big parties have moved further to the edges. Martin

Indeed.
I do wish Corbyn would leave, but the problem is the Labour party are done.
