NEVERRRRRRRR!
In other news, still got Paradise Towers and Ghost Light from The Works haul to get through. Haven't read either of them. Then the 6-story 11th Doc TARDIS box set to finish off with.
And then I can get back to the nth number of Big Finish Whodios I haven't had time to listen to!

I probably have that amount of BF stuff to get through never mind the growing pile of Audiogo downloads.
Started Paradise Towers. Finding Langford's rendition of McCoy rather distracting! Better than the telly version though, so far.

The missing stories aka The Lost Stories as BF call them are highly variable. Great highs to massive lows!

Ah yes. Both of them are excellent. I would say BF's 1st Doctor audios are by the far the most consistently good stories they put out for any Doctor. I've yet to hear a bad 1st Doc audio from them, either in the Lost Stories or Companion Chronicles range.

More action in The Works today. They had got the 'TARDIS Adventure Collection' in again (big cardboard TARDIS with 6 original audio 11th Doc stories). New in were audiobooks of The Silent Stars Go By and The Coming of The Terraphiles* and the audio version of the SHADA** book.
On a tangent, they also had the radio serial Aliens in the Mind. Based on a story by Robert Holmes and starring Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and Richard Hurndall! Liner notes by Sir Andrew of Pixley!
-Ralph
*I own the novels and have never got round to reading them. I keep forgetting about them as they move from pile to pile.
**11 hrs and 30 mins long!

Generally, The Works seems to becoming a dumping ground for excess Audiogo stock. Piles of their unabridged audios of the Fleming Bond novels too, and they only came out a few months ago!

Three hours into Ghost Light. Ian Hogg may be the most terrible audiobook reader of all time. He's awful!

It will amount to 6hs 50mins of pain by the end. He reads every sentence slowly with random pauses and often ending them as if it is a question or he can't be bothered. I swear you can hear him puzzling out the meaning of common words.

Yep. The added length means it may trump the Black Orchid audiobook for awfulness. I have not read the novel, but it's hard to tell if it was any good underneath Hogg's literally breathless and deathless delivery.

Ghost Light finally finished. It has made my commutes rather tedious of late. A shame. I got the impression that the text source may have been decent but it was the most awfully read audiobook I have ever heard. Mr Hogg is a fine dramatic actor but he's really not suited to talking books. He reads it as poorly as, well, I would if I tried! Avoid like the plague.
A wee break now from Audiogo stuff to delve back into the Big Finish pile I think.

Audiogo tweeted that Cuddly Colin was in the studio recently reading Mindwarp. Add this to the sticker book in Tesco that has a Valeyard sticker in it and the glorious TRIAL OF A TIMELORD has 50th anniversary merchandise after all!!! Unless Simon Power needs a year to stick on a couple of library sound effects.
