The Mervyn Stone books aren't bad. Certainly at £2 a pop.
HE JESTS AT SCARS for a pound! Cheap Valeyard action.

I would have gone for the second and third series of Pathfinder if I hadn't splurged on Tom stories a few days ago. Can't really do another hit in a week.

Doom Coalition 1 and 2 powered through. Oh dear. The downward slide from Dark Eyes 3 and 4 continues.
The story about the woman in the paintings was good and the Voord one was alright but otherwise...dear oh dear.
I hope 3 and 4 are better.

I only made it through volume 1 before giving up! I also found the paintings one really good, and I liked the new companion a lot but not enough to subject myself to more of these overblown high-stakes-chaotic-technobabble-heavy 8th Doctor boxed sets. They feel like such a waste.
Dark Eyes 1 & 2 were both genuinely great though.

The Time War was much more interesting.
I've yet to start Ravenous, just because of how little I cared for Doom Coalition.

I'm much happier with the box sets that aren't centred around being one part of a huge high-stakes story arc. The New Adventures one late last year was great, and I'm looking forward to the Lucie Miller set later this year.

The Time War was much more interesting. I've yet to start Ravenous, just because of how little I cared for Doom Coalition. Noooooooooooooo don't say that. Doom Coalition 3 and 4 lie in my future. I want to like them. I would like the companions to be less generic and The Eleven to be less shit. That character actively annoys me. Doing the whole 'crazy multiple personality' shtick with constant OTT voice changes feels, ah, rather out of date and somewhat unfortunate. BF is usually a bit more progressive with its scripts. The actor is doing a decent turn but honestly you just can't get away with writing characters that way anymore! I see Dorney is back on 3. I usually like his scripts. Good writer. -Ralph

Blazed through Doom Coalition 3 and 4. Hmmm. It does pick up and the first episodes of each volume are excellent. The problem is that the arc plot is bobbins and a certain guest star is just blooming awful (not helped by two other actors putting in great turns as other incarnations of that character). But...it was alright. It's pacey. There is some fun to be had. We are very far from Dark Eyes 1 and 2 quality though. River Song is odd. I liked her on telly but on audio I find her just annoying.
A good working knowledge of BF continuity is required to follow a lot of what goes on in the back half of Doom Coalition though which is maybe not the way to go.
Shame about the crap cliffhanger!

I see the Amazon exclusive variant is #1 in their TV soundtrack sales chart (well today anyway). #2 is the series 11 soundtrack. #3 is the regular edition of DMP vinyl. The hardcore Mavic Chen fans have turned out! -Ralph Ralph should not have watched the unboxing video on the DW FB feed. -Ralph

Andu is trying to talk me down. I am on the red haze ledge.
However this has somehow brought to mind that DEATH COMES TO TIME was...18 years ago! 19 if you recall the pilot was made in 2000!
Remember when it was the hot new thing? The future of Doctor Who via the strange new medium of online streaming! Yet it seems to have been mostly forgotten. It was so exciting at the time.
