Isn't that BF freebie one of the old DWM cover discs?

Listened to The Nightmare Country this afternoon, the new lost story release by Stephen Gallagher. I really enjoyed it. It feels like one of his stories and fits between Warriors' Gate and Terminus in terms of how abstract the narrative is. It's another proper sci-fi story based on a sci-fi idea, with some nice moments for Tegan particularly. Sometimes BF lost story releases leave me wondering what on Earth they were thinking, but this one really felt like it could have been a goer.

Hmmm. I found a lot of the previous Lost Stories to be stories that should have stayed lost so I will wait for a sale for the two new ones.

I see The Third Doc Adventures vols 1-3 are reduced in this week's BF sale. Tempting. I'm just wondering what will turn up in next week's Fourth Doc one.

Held off on the Third Doc sale anticipating a spend on the Tom one. Mistake. Not a lot worth having there I don't already have. Shame. Was really hoping for Hinchcliffe 2 & 3.

Finally got round to listening to the comic strip adaptations set - it really is very good, The Star Beast being my favourite of the pair with some great voice acting. Adapting these is the best thing I've heard Alan Barnes do in ages (and he does it well).
The extra downloadable bonus interview with Pat Mills is worth a listen, too.

Agreed. One of the best BF sets for years, that one.

It's digital only at the moment though isn't it; be a while before they start sending CDs again.

In other news, another sale means Burns has now plugged the gaps in the first 200 Main Range releases. Yay.

Been making some progress in my Big Finish to-listen pile this past week or so, and it's all been good!
A Thousand Tiny Wings was a sharp and compelling drama, though the conclusion felt a little rushed and the metaphor in the alien threat very on-the-nose. I'd like to hear more of the Dr Klein stories, it's an interesting dynamic and there was good chemistry with the Doctor.
The City of Spires trilogy was a lot of fun, the last part almost like a Jasper Fforde novel. I can imagine it wouldn't be to everyone's taste, though. Alexander Siddig as Captain Nemo is a nice bit of casting.
The Skin of the Sleek / The Thief Who Stole Time two-part fourth Doctor story was a wonderful piece of world-building by Marc Platt, I could vividly visualise it and it's a great idea. Some really good voice acting as well.

I grabbed the Lucie and 8th Doc stories in a recent download sale that I had heard on Radio 4 but didn't have copies of. Looking forward to giving them another go.
Working through the ones I hadn't heard from Main Range 1-100 when they were recently on sale at £1.49. The Gyles Brandreth interview extra on 'I.D' was bonkers!
