7 years after it was produced, the narrated soundtrack to THE WEB PLANET has been released and in act of self harm I felt I had no choice but to indulge. While you no longer get INSECT MOVEMENT BY ROSYLN DE WINTER at least the visual direction of Richard Martin is now absent, which does help it a lot. The constant Zarbi beeping does get on my tits in the audio format though.

Seven years?!

Yes. It was produced in 2013. The narrated soundtrack range ended with more of a focus for BBC Audio on their originals and continuing their Target readings. The Web Planet was lost in limbo until it emerged this year quite unexpectedly initially as part of Demon Records vinyl range and later as a BBC Audio cd release using the same artwork and text.

So it is a recovered lost soundtrack of a story that should have been lost. A bizarre tale indeed.

There's also an audio of a new novelisation of An Unearthly Child by Nigel Robinson that got caught in legal limbo following the death of the original cd publishers in 2013

Bit behind but I listened to the First Doctor Who Audio Annual today while doing various chores, which I think was a Christmas present two years ago. Some great tales on there, it reminded me how the annual stuff wasn't all bad. Also how that 82 annual was pretty much all Fourth Doc and Adric stories with a couple of Davisons tacked on the end, which pinpoints when it must have been written fairly precisely. No Romana, Nyssa or Tegan.

More collection completion antics. Decided to pick off Hinchcliffe vols 2 & 3 in the BF sale to add to my Tom Baker CDs. That's that particular sub-line done.

I was tempted to get them too so I can complete that sub-line but pennies tight and I already have a backlog of Whodios. Another time!

Listened to The Dalek Protocol this afternoon. I wanted to hear a current Tom to listen to how his voice is now, it seems to get better and better. Enjoyable listen, nice to hear a direct sequel to Death, but the balance of individual story/Dalek Universe prologue means there seems to be a lot going on this Doctor doesn't really need to worry about. I think it would make sense to listen to Fourth Doc series 8 before this but I haven't bought that one yet.

I do like the bluntless Eccleston has in the way he communicates. People mistake this for openness, he's definitely not that, but he is forthright. No frills. Which is good.

Nice to hear Eccleston back
Uuuuuuuh that's it really. Very 'Big Finish does a confusing time hopping adventure which is clearly a first draft'
