They're all remastered, c1994. Before then there was a bit at the start of shine on which was much higher in the mix

Yeah, turns out all my CD's are remastered, but the two vinyls aren't.
So I don't think you've got much of a choice, Shockers.

So I now have:
A foot in the door Dark side of the Moon Wish you were here Meddle Piper at the gates of dawn
Only really had chance to give DSOTM some good listens. Some long workish drives upcoming though.
And Big Phil's hot another Floyd Load for me.

That's an interesting collection, dipping backwards from Dark Side into the earlier stuff that doesn't always go down as well. I don't think many people would buy Meddle in preference to The Wall. You would find Animals is closer to WYWH than Meddle, but I would really recommend going the full Gilmour with The Division Bell.

Great advice. I'm really feeling 'The Gilmour Effect'. Total man-crush on Gilmour right now. I'm gonna go for Division Bell next. And The Wall. Waters' lyrics, when they're not TOO dark, are bloody genius though (too dark just means the message gets murky).

The Wall is just amazing for what it is. One of the best albums ever made.

NEXT ON THE LIST.
I'm really... you know... Pleased...
I haven't felt this excited since Chess, or or or Prussia.
Still pretty disturbed I've missed all this until now...

But on the flip side it's always cool to find something new that consumes you. Musically, I've been doing that with Tangerine Dream for the last year or so.

And I was really drawn the Barrett's 'See Emily Play' and want more of him.

The Wall is just amazing for what it is. One of the best albums ever made. My opinion wavers on it. Tackling the whole thing needs me to be in the right mood, which is not a point when I want to be listening to the wall! LP side one is fab - first half of cd 1 or first quarter of the album - as is Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell. But a lot of it is as depressing as *****

Oh they're nothing like Pink Floyd. Sequencer music. Like trance but without the tune. Repetitive rhythms that lift you out of reality.

They release music left, right and centre, over 150 albums so far I think. Most is very similar and kinda like lift music, but the band's founder, Edgar Froese, died in 2015 and oddly since then, I've found what the remainder of the band produce is brilliant. The link below is their most recent full studio album, Quantum Gate.

Mrs Shocks and the kids likes it (eldest is VERY picky over her music, whereas the youngest is just nuts and jumps around at anything). I didn't mind it at the time... BUT NOW I KNOW BETTER.

No, it's pretty good. The low-key sleazy disco suits the song, I think. I like that they did something new with it and made it their own. It's pretty much two different songs, and I think that's actually neat.
I'd rather that than a cover that sounds the same as the original, I mean, what's the point?

I totally agree with everything you said there, Urz'. Scissors' cover is the PERFECT example of what a cover should be be: different, augmenting, spunky. And from a great band too. One of the rare examples where it works .

Oh and Meddle is really rather good. I am so grateful for a longish commute. (Although the commute has kept me from downloading the Pink Goodness Big Phil's sent me...).
'Echoes' is... MESMERISING.
But 'Fearless'..?
I... I can't take it in...
WE HAVE A NEW FAVOURITE, PEOPLE.

Must confess, I have a soft spot for The Division Bell. Take It Back, Coming Back To Life and High Hopes are all excellent, top tier Floyd tunes.
