I always used to enjoy this when I stayed in Glasgow as FPG put it on. FPE don't usually participate but they are advertising having guests for it. I may have to have a look!

I'm going to visit my LCS in London - Raygun comics in Richmond - tomorrow but when Liz arrived today she brought with her a package containing the FCBD versions of Marvel's Infinity, IDW's Judge Dredd and 2000ad

FPE had posters up today for the event. I will be there for their Saturday 10am showing! They are also advertising 20% off graphic novels for the day. Almost like they have at last remembered that they are a comic shop!

I shall be on trains and aeroplanes for the duration of Free Comic Book Day, otherwise I would have been down there as well!

No opportunity to get into town today, though my "free" comics did arrive from Disposable Heroes. Hard to believe it's a whole year since the RG1 signing at Orbital.

FCBD gets busier every year at Orbital. Queue was around the block before opening and then was a solid queue from the back of the shop to out the door [it's a long shop] for about 3 hours. Plenty of people still showing up throughout the day for the books and everything had gone by around 3pm. Then we had a very successful signing with Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie.
It's a great event for getting people into stores, I hope it went well for everyone. Would be interested in hearing how it went at other stores as I've never had a chance to visit one as I've always been at work.

FPE did, unusually, have a go last year but it was a bit of a debcle so I have pre-ordered the TF V Joe book online so I can get it.

Surprisingly, I saw a sign for FPE saying they are doing FCBD with 25% off all trades during the day. I will be safe from red hazing though as any trades I thought 'maybe' were badly damaged. The TF 30th anniversary HC had a bloody hole in it!

A hole? And they still consider it suitable for sale? Good grief...

Typical of most brick and mortar stores which sell trades, sadly.

FPE gave no choice of books and were handing out random bags so I was unable to get what I came for. The shop was also rammed with folk and far too claustrophobic so I had to avoid the sale and went instead to the library where I got some trades.
At least I have TF V Gi Joe on order to arrive next week so not a total loss. Hopefully the Marvel stuff and Tooth will be online.

Oh well. FPG allow folk to pick their FCBD titles, FE don't so there was nowt I could do. But the one I really needed is on order and I got a good haul in the library today so no harm done.

The Rocket Racoon book is tops, had the Joe TF book not been out it would have been the winner of FCBD.

I had not known there was a Rocket Raccoon book. Now I am sad.
My LCS had pretty much nothing in when I got there about 1pm. Picked up all that was left: An awful thing about a zombie prostitute, a modern Grimms Fairy Tales type affair, and a hardback Mouse Guard anthology, which is really good.

I made it to Nostalgia Comics before racing off to meet Matt on Saturday. I had to make a snap decision as I already had seven books in my hand when they told me it was four per customer. In the end I settled on Guardians of the Galaxy (it was a bit poo- meet the team then three random pages of Thanos looking at things then... Spider-man, for some reason), Teen Titans Go! (it was pretty good- three fairly solid stories), Scrooge McDuck (excellent as always, with two complete tales) and Buck Rogers (haven't read it yet). The only TF vs GI Joe they had were three copies they put in the window as part of the FCBD display. They were not made available.
