I thought the legend went that the moulds were lost?
Interesting collection there. Suddenly quite a lot compared to the slow rate of the encores. I'm up for these if they're coloured properly. I know you chaps like the mental repaints but if they bring out something like Trypticon in bright pink I will burn down the world in apoplectic rage. Muck up Blaster and that'd be worth destroying a continent or two.

Hmmm. Looks like the Dinobots 'news' is currently just 'some guy on the internet said so'. I'll hold off on the bunting for now.

"What have we got?" "The Australian station chief passed this up the chain, but it is rumour at the moment - no second source confirmation." "So, nothing actionable. Tell the analysts to keep their eyes open but concentrate on multiple-sourced data when they are building the tac-picture. Dinosaurs in the antipodes aren't a thing until we've got some verification."

Toy-Fu has am MP Grimlock coming their way. Much obliged, Colin! Yeah, park the Dinobots reissue in the "rumour" column for now I think. The rest we've seen reported before, although neither hide nor hair of them have been seen yet either. -Nick

I do hope the dinobots rumor is true. I would kill to have nice brand new crisp dinobots.

Yup, I don't know they would do much in the asian territories but a Dinobot boxed set would shift in the West easily.

G2 would be a incomplete set though unless they used the unreleased colours.....
Surely a AOE set with
Gold/brass Grimlock Blue Swoop Purple Slag Green Snarl black & red Sludge

Yes, the unreleased colours would need to be used.
That is a good thing.

Though that would mean the perfect time for a reissue would be last year.

Yes, but you don't want to be cannibalising your own sales, so having too many Dinobot products available might harm them,
We had repackages of the FOC/WFC Grimlock and the splendid Energon Grimlock.

Also don't forget that the Dinobots are *not* popular in Japan. At Botcon the Hasbro chaps talked about how hard it was to persuade Takara to do MP Grimlock. If the moulds were worn out as well, it would have taken a lot of persuasion (and cash) to get into a position to release the original Dinos again.
Or... maybe Hasbro decided to take matters into their own hands. Or something else entirely.
It is a bit weird that they didn't reissue the Dinobots last year. Maybe they were concerned about flooding the market, or the moulds weren't ready. Or something else entirely. EDIT: Like what Andy said.

I'm an e-grimlock fan. This is the first and ONLY attempt in a mainline to homage the classic Grimlock design. I honestly don't understand the hate. He does what he's intended to, and well. Swoop on the other hand, not so much.

Yep, I like Energon Grimlock as well. He's not the best of the molds, but he's fun. And his bot mode has attitude.

He has a certain charm, but is a step down and even among the range at the time I thought he wasn't that great. I think partly because I think Grimlock deserved something bigger and better. I mean the Energon Wheeljack (Downshift) was a much better crafted homage.
I do still want to get a Swoop and was miffed he wasn't reissued, given that Swoop is my favourite Dinobot.

Yeah its baffling.
But apparently true. Or at least its true Takara told Hasbro that who in turn told a full panel at botcon.
Im not completely convinced as MP Grimlock has had a few Takara releases. Even the comic colour one got a reissue.
But Grimlock would be the most popular so I can believe the others might sell less well and for G1 reissues making new moulds means more expense and that means being convinced of getting a certain amount of use from the moulds.
The AOE colours schemes at least add one extra use along with original and G2. Maybe that was the magic number for them 3 commercially viable releases.
Oooh. I would love if they went and made official version of the Fourstar knock offs. Those things are amazing.

Fourstar knock offs? -Ralph the fourstar KOs here I have a junker of the first Bombshell, it's missing the legs, but has the tail and its a solid toy. I gave it a junker bombshells legs and blutacked 2 broken pincers on the ends to recreate its true scorpion like form. I was thinking the dinobots were from the line, but it seems they were a different line called Prehistory DinosaurThe Sludge is a work of art. link
