I'm completely out of the loop, what's this subscription service? Have Hasbro or Funpub turned into Mattel?

It's certainly an underwhelming bunch overall, not unlike the GI Joe equivalent. That said, Circuit is definitely calling my name!

Funpub are doing a Matty Collector. Announced at Botcon. "We're sorry about the credit card thing but LOOK NEW TOYS! Give us even more of your money!" Or words to that effect.

Yup. Although to be fair it is bringing it in line with the GI Joe club model.
Although launching it after Botcon is a bit daft. Can't imagine that everyone who wants to subscribe will be able to afford it just a few weeks after the con.
Still I do approve of Ultra Mammoth.

Yeah, I like Ultra Mammoth too. I'm pleased to see old moulds getting resurected but not pleased to see funpub doing it.

Oddly enough, Slipstream appeals the most to me out of those. Next to a G1/CHUg-styled toy she actually looks like a reasonable female Decepticon.

It's a decent idea, but Fun Pub will never get another penny from me.

Fun Publication Subscription Service Surprisingly this actually appears to be a fairly well thought out plan by FP standards. Maybe thats because its something that so many have been asking for in one form or another for ages. The price of $285 for 6 figures (before shipping) seems reasonable (sort of) £32 each for 5 deluxes and Ultra Mammoth which is bordering on modern leader class. Of course no shipping prices yet. Below are the rules, with a few of FP usual randomness mixed in. Number 5 is well, optimistic.

I do hope BBTS have the individual figure pre-order option. That way Ultra Mammoth will be mine.

Ultra Mammoth & Scourge

Post by Bogatan on Aug 17, 2012 19:12:03 GMT
I expect BBTS and other large online stores will each order hundreds of subscriptions so individual orders should be no problem.
I imagine Jackpot and Circuit will be the least in demand, with Slipstream and Breakdown in the middle and Ultra Mammoth and Scourge the two big draws which means they'll be the two BBTS up the price on the most to cover the cost of the harder to shift figures.
But as these will be made to order that might keep the secondary price down a little and theres always Nick to send to:)
I'm unsure if I'll get them or not. I can get them sent to someone in the US to avoid the crazy shipping and I do like most of them, but I'm not needing any that much. Circuit and Jackpot are probably my faves and should be the easiest and cheapest to get later.

Andy, let me know if you're going to do any kind of group buy. I'm also unsure, but probably will bite if the shipping costs can be reduced from the usual international extortion.
Kinda wish they'd given more time before closing the subs too. Sept 10th isn't even a month away and they're unsure if they'll even start to ship in January.

Well I know Aesir is after Slipstream, if Phil wants Scourge and could fight it out with Ralph for UM and some one (like me possibly) wants Circuit and Jackpot a group order to split might work.

Honestly, I'd want the Slipstream too, and then I'd want the rest as I have the whole completist mentality problem. Will ask Alan if he's interested in any.

For what it's worth, I'm potentially interested in everything but Jackpot and Breakdown (have the KO, not super fond of it as a concept anyway). Need to see what other unforseen costs my move brings.

For what it's worth I'd be interested in Scourge, Jackpot and Breakdown. The rest I can happily live without. Well, I can live without them all, but those three are the ones I went "Grr" at being exclusives initially.
