So... does anyone know when the first of these guys is due to be released? I thought at least one would be out by now. It occurred to me this morning that if my American odyssey is to come to an end and I start a new Ph.D back in Britain I'll have to deal with all of TMUK's subscriptions that are currently aimed at my present US residence. Asking my flatmates to post them on seems like an awfully big favour. This is quite the conundrum, and I'm open to suggestions as I rewrite my CV. -Nick It's always been my impression that the subscription figures are all for next year. If you need to, you can have them shipped to my address.

Nick, I think they should all be out the first half of next year. Assuming you are there at the end of the next semester 2/3s of them should already have reached you at least.

I still think nuking from orbit could work. If the Earth dies screaming, the toy subscription issue is solved.

I am shocked. Shocked, I say.
Actually, I am a wee bit surprised. Fun Pub manage to arrange upwards of ten figures per con usually with seven or eight different moulds (plus the annual subscription figure)- they're always on time and always well presented. This shouldn't have been a big issue for them.

I suppose the year-long production schedule presents different logistical problems, and the whole thing is an extremely low priority for Hasbro so if one of their runs gets in the way, the club just has to wait.

Inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt as Hasbro and Takara products arriving at retail are regularly delayed by weeks or months.
As for, botcon I've always put that down to Hasbro making sure there are no delays as it is a very public event that has more potential to embarrass them if things go wrong.

I read that the TFCC software has borked and deleted some members accounta. So if you are a member you might want to check if you still exist.

According to an email inquiry from a chap at TFW2005, the subscription figures have been delayed again until June. Yup. -Nick

This is a shocking and unforseen development. The top was protected by cardboard, what more do you want, 'bubble wrap'?

I got an email from Funpub two nights ago saying that they are dispatching the toys via Fedex who refuse to deliver to Mr Jetty's PO box. I was asked to provide an alternate address and was charged $10 for the privilege. Would have been nice to know in advance, I said. They simply replied that they would change my address to Mr Jetty's home address (apologies for this, Crazy- I hope it doesn't cause any inconvenience) and will be away for Botcon until July 8th and thus unable to respond to emails. Probably a good idea given how mad a lot of their customers are.

Is anyone really surprised at this point? FP's poor customer service is well documented and also lengthy by now. Give them cash and you can't really complain by now, internet in general.

I am unsure how escaping to BotCon will protect them from the wrath of angry and annoyed Transformers collectors. Surely that is where the danger is most concentrated?!

Not really. Everyone is too busy queueing to pick up their Botcon Toys to worry about giving them hassle as far as I can tell. So that is probably the safest place for them. Besides, it is not as if they have any actual reason to fear. Experience has shown that peoples response to any problems with Fubn Pub stuff is to give them money again, thus demonstrating that they aren't really very concerned about the difficulties.
Business work on a simple logic folks - if they keep making more money they assume that they are doing it right. The only way to communicate the converse is not to give them money.

If they continue the subscription for a second year they'll have to have some phenomenal stuff to make this chump part with insane quantities of cash again. That said... I've seen reports of (undamaged) Scourges going for $200+ on eBay. It's not quite AS crazy now, but it's still fairly crazy and bearing in mind that the subscriptions are, what, $325 (counting subscription) a year? Yeah, this is one of the more sought-after figures but I suspect that if a subscriber has no particular love for these guys once they're in hand the after-market will ease their disappointment. -Nick

The Scourges are sat in Texas, hopefully I'll have them for AA. The second figure might also get shipped to Texas in time for AA too but I'm not holding to much hope for that.
FP are apparently sticking to their guns and only sending one figure a month, which given the delay is utterly stupid but means the last figures wont arrive here till possibly next year.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Slipstream being out in time, I'm afraid.
The Scourges are (as far as we've discussed) coming over with the Toy-fu 2013 eBay.com winnings. They will be here for AA, but that means they'll have to ship out by the third week of July at the absolute latest- any later and they could be stuck getting kicked up and down a corridor by customs by the time I'm leaving for the convention.

If Slipstream (has that been confirmed as the second one?) arrived before the end of July I'll see if they can be posted in time. The scourges arrived a week or two before Botcon so if they stick to anything like the monthly schedule they are meant to its possible.
