A gigantic arm walks on its fingers back into the room] I am animating that scene. I just rewatched the original scene. Man, Punch is rubbish isn't it. He tells them he's about to turn up and then instantly dies. Of course the important question is how giant hand Punch should enter the room. I was originally thinking scuttling like the Thing from Addams Family, but I just had a fit over the idea of Punch-hand slowly dragging itself into the room to the creepy 'giant hand' music from that season 2 ep of Steven Universe It is a hard decision you have, Bogatan. That is what being an adult is all about! :c |

Okay, I have to ask, what's with all the Toxitron love?? I don't particularly like it. I don't think Toxitron works at all, if he's not a long nosed truck with a tanker trailer. Toxitron was the WORST part of TFA. He took the spot of at least a dozen better choices. It doesn't help that he was modeled on Bizarro, and I HATE BIZARRO. Had they chosen the much more appropriate rts laserrod optimus with the melted head that was intended for Toxitron, I'd have been thrilled. And there'd have been hope that Maketoys would dust off their trailer set. And had they chosen DofM Megatron for it? I'd have been over the moon. But as it is, I'm willing to take it as an incentive to someone who wants to get rid of it, to sell me Fractyl and Scorponok. |

I think my problem with Toxitron is it's another spare Prime mould torso. I've got BC Op, usurped bv Optimus in his team, and Nemesis Prime sitting here already. Cyclonus has gone to form Galvatronus with the spare parts and Scattorshot has been True Friended to a deserving cause.
Points though for putting the Prime head on the Motormaster torso.
I suppose the club had to use this one though: Scattershot (Silverbolt) was in Predacus (a rant for a another day which will hopefully be quite soon) and Onslaught (Hotspot) is in Thunder Mayhem.
<Insert the usual rant on the lack of other Voyagers and why they didn't do a Megatron tank here>
It could be the pictures, but Toxitron here is looking very Constructicon green.

I'm betting the bonus figure comes with either Lifeline or Counterpunch.
I'd make a prediction what the bonus is, but last year they proved that it's not predictable. Making a new head for a non-character like Carzap, I felt the bonus was a given to be Windbreaker. And in the unlikelyhood it was him, then it would be the last classics seeker everyone is pining over.
But I'll say this: if the bonus is a BW character, I'll buy it from anyone who does not want it. I'd do this even blind.
I have reason to believe it might be Blackarachnia from Chromia. Might even be Arcee from Legend Blackarachnia.

Thinking about it it would have made slightly more sense if Fractyl and Terrorsaur had swapped places.
Fractyl would have worked better in the Botcon set as a past Botcon homage
Terrorsaur pairs better with Scorponok, solely due to their shared demise.

Ah, that makes sense, I can imagine that being the plan at some point. TFSS 5.0 might not have been a sure thing at some point so it was changed because they wanted to make sure Terrorsaur made it out.
Though more likely its because terrorsaur works as a member of Tripredacus and Fractyl apparently has history as a 3H Wrecker and is joining Toxitron, Impactor Counterpunch and the TFSS 5 bonus figure as the wreckers team.

The more I think about this, the more irritated I get over the fact that Counterpunch exists. I mean, on a normal year he would be a pretty big WTF inclusion. But this is the last run, and he is genuinely taking the spot of a hundred better ideas. And I'm not even irritated that he's a retread. There are a lot of great retreads to be had. Airazor is a good example. But Counterpunch isn't even a good retread. He looks less like Counterpunch than their first one, and he doesn't even have the benefit of a secondary robot. He doesn't even use a good mold. Much better ideas they could have easily done G1 Sideswipe from CW Dead End w/Prowl's chest and a new head

If Anything Dead End would have been more suitable for Counterpunch! But since TFCC Punch/Counterpunch was a reuse of Universe 2 Sideswipe/Sunstreaker, with the Sunstreaker version forming Counterpunch there, so TFSS 5.0 Dead End had to be a Sunstreaker reuse. Arcee from Legend Blackarachnia The rumour wagon was strongly suggesting this one in the ru up to Botcon. As it turns out it was Airazor, a different Legends toy repurposed. |
