"Soon" has a particular meaning. To explain the joke and thus render it unfunny, "Soon" is what Pete Sinclair would always say to everything. Soon would often stretch out in a nebulous way to mean next week, next month, or next year. It was not uncommon to announce information or a toy would be released soon, and six months later we're still waiting and still being told "soon."

Eh, we've had similar situations with that weird multicolour Overload repaint when OTFCC folded and Hasbro fulfilled those orders, so I don't think there's any risk.

I don't think there is a problem. They've said all they needed to do was get the orders in during 2016, the fulfilment can happen during 2017.

It was not unreasonable for customers to have expected their order in 2016. Useless shower. I'll be surprised if customers get all of series 5 before summer.

I'm calling it-
Installment 2: The two pretenders
Installment 3: The two combiners + incentive.

|
Post by Philip Ayres on Apr 6, 2017 6:31:23 GMT
I'm not sure I see both Pretenders arriving together, as they're the major draw for the set, unless they're the last toys.
If one comes in w2 I'd think it would *probably* be the Op as that's a repaint of a previous Botcon toy whereas Megatron's Max shell is the really big draw.
Any hints out there to what the incentive toy is?

I think they'd like to go out on a high which would mean not having Counterpunch as the last product they ever release.
The pretenders, one probably their biggest achievment and the other a recolour of Grand Maxs pretender shell, not to mention them being Prime and Megatron would be how I'd end it. But throw in the 7th bonus figure and it may just be an excessively large box.
So my guess is installment 3 will be one of the pretenders and Toxitron and incentive.

You guys are forgetting the last two are the final installments of a combiner. FP tends to like to stretch those out. And it's quite possibly the last CW/UW era combiner, period. And combiners are a bigger incentive to more people than pretenders, which are a much more niche fandom. Many people borderline hate pretenders.
Add to this, the bonus figure will be in the last shipment. The pretenders are five pieces each. (Shell, robot, minicon, two weapons). Plus, one set= pretenders, one set= combiners are two very strong themes. So I doubt they'll do pretender/combiner. It makes practical sense, as I pointed out the pretenders take up a lot of packaging room, no matter what. So will Toxitron. If the bonus is a deluxe (I have a feeling this is most likely), then they will be trying to fit a pretender shell, a legend, a minicon, and TWO deluxes, or a shell, a legend, minicon, a voyager AND a deluxe into one package.
It makes more sense to put the pretenders together (two voyager sized shells on wach end, two legends and two minicons between them), and a voyager and two deluxes in another package.
I think all this is pretty big incentive for them to save the combiners until dead last.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if the incentive is a combiner limb TBH Answers own question tfwiki.net/wiki/Wreckage_(G1)Which only works if you've not used those up elsewhere! And I don't really feel right using Autobots to make up a Decepticon combiner anywhere other than Galvatronus (and maybe Grand Scourge)

Aye, the official combiner is Toxitron, Fractyl, Counterpunch, and Bluestreak, assembled and lead by Impactor. Two autobots, two decepticons, and a predacon (which as established fictionally as far back as the tv show, are not automatically "bad guys," ala decepticons)
And being a combiner limb is why i suspect the bonus to be a deluxe. Possible waspinator. I would suspect black arachnia from chromia if FP hadn't already shot that down.

I think the team is too random to make the final combiner wars toy a big deal, especially as it was supposed to have been done months back.
Plus I do know the incentive figure is a combiner deluxe figure (not saying who but that its a combiner limb seems to have been out there for a while now) so the last package will still have the last combiner wars figure (for now anyway) whatever else is in the box.
Toxitron in set is less a decepticon than a violent failed experiment. Fractyl has never been much of an evil character. Counterpunch despite all logic appears to be Punch stuck in Counterpunch mode so Autobot-ish. Impactor - violent Autobot. Bluestreak rounds out a more or less Autobot set.
Personally I think I might swap Roller and Counterpunch. And maybe make use of Battlecore and keep Toxitron as a stand alone figure. And maybe Rook for Fractyl because Impactor, Roller and Rook, hell yeah!

I would much prefered Back Arachnia from Chromia, Waspinator from Skydive or Arcee from Black Arachnia as the incentive figure.

Thinking about it, I now don't think Waspinator from a CW mold is a possibility, and here's why:
He can't be done without a new head. And FP would not waist money on new tooling for a "freebie " (I qualify that with quotations because I don't believe they are free, I think their price is factored into the subscription), especially when they know they'll never get to recomp their money in a later use. I mean the theory is that Terrorsaur was bumped to botcon in case this set couldn't even be done at all. Waspinator would also be a MAJOR selling point. I'd think if they had him, they'd have advertized him and pushed lifeline or fractyl to the incentive.
