Andu reports on the twitter that he is in the pub, drinking He was. All very restrained and civilized. Evening rounded off with a trip to the cinema for Muppets Most Wanted. Andy

Missed last night due to extreme tiredness.
Got up early to make a run through to Glasgow. Woke up with stinking headache and raspy throat. Thought I'd go back to bed but currently trapped upon the porcelain throne.
I'm having a great time.

Just a wee tummy bug and not really surprising as I have felt off-colour for the past week. One of those things.

Hope you are feeling better by tomorrow. On my way back home to Planet Falkirk having left the last men standing in the Crystal Palace. A quiet walk home through the Planet Falkirk night beckons...

I am lucky that the bus stops to and from Glasgow are just outside my flat more or less.
It was a fantastic day, great to meet some familiar faces again as well as some new ones. The quiz was not as scary as I was expecting and we all enjoyed the beautiful art of a young Ralph.

I am starting to think my presence is bad for poor Ralph. Last year when I first attended Glasgow comic con, Ralph was ill and couldn't make it, at AA Ralph did not feel well and had a sore foot and I showed up this weekend and Ralph is ill.

Oh don't think like that! Sheer coincidence! Glasgow Comic Con: came down with the worst hay fever I had had since I was a teenager and literally could not go outside for a couple of days. AA: managed to rip open the under sole of my left foot on the train down and spent the weekend in pain hopped up on painkillers. Scotcon: tummy bug after a few days of feeling shattered. I am sure I will be fine next time our paths should cross! -Ralph

Scotcon 2014 Started for me with a 5pm train to the Burger to then get a connection to Glasgow. Managed to sort my hotel out without any issues and met up with Martin and we grabbed a bite to eat and a few leisurely drinks before deciding to catch the 2310 showing of Muppets Most Wanted. An enjoyable film, with the only negative being the trailer for the new Postman Pat film. Saturday morning kicked off at 10am outside a pub (it's a Scotcon tradition) as we waited for the various folks to show up. Andy Kiernan, (Bogatan), Karl and Martin joining me early doors before Jii, Adam, Nick, Rob, Llama God and Colin (Hippobot) joined us. The Scotcon free edition of Another Time and Place Part One was handed out and we had drinks and laughs before...THE QUIZ. Now in years gone by we have all heard tales of Nick's Quizzes of Doom and the terror they inspire, this year he did a quiz based entirely on the character of Whirl from More Than Meets the Eye and the answers were entirely subjective. The stakes were high for the quiz, there were many fine prizes. Kregeneration One sketch covers, DVD's, Mr T and the booby prizes the two Pat Lee graphic novels. War and Peace and X4 or as they are properly known the Gavin Spence Trophies, for it is he that usually wins them. Sadly due to scheduling conflicts he could not make it until Sunday so he was spared his usual honour...FOR THIS YEAR! In the end Adam managed to win, Jii not far behind in second place. Rob coming second last sadly had to actively choose a Pat Lee graphic novel, but to his credit he chose War and Peace, definitely the lesser of two evils. Andy K took the bullet for Spence and went home with X4. Now normally the terror that is The Yomtov Factor would be visited upon all present by the perfidious Ralph. However, illness took him and spared us so we could not indulge in that trauma. I did however ensure that everyone went away with their Yomtov Factor colouring books, which were copies of the Transformers exercise book from early in the run resplendent with illustrations and other joys from young Ralph himself when he was a child. As Martin reflected when leafing through it did make it feel like Ralph was with us in spirit. Many toys were brought out to show and tell and not soon after little placards were placed on our tables saying reserved. A coincidence? I will let you decided. We decamped from our pub to...ANOTHER PUB! Wherein food was consumed, more alcohol was consumed and we decided that DC need to hire me to consult on their cinematic universe building. Hot topics of conversation of the day were Martin's preference of X-Men Origins: Wolverine to The Wolverine, which led me on to wax lyrical about Huge Action's hair in the title sequence of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and my disdain for his haircut in The Wolverine. We did all agree X3 was shit though. As the night went on, we all went our separate ways for some rest before Sunday. Sunday. Sadly due to the demands to do DIY LlamaGod could not join us, but diving into the fray was Gavin and Gavin. M and Spence made their appearances and we caught up in the pub for laughs amid quick runs to comic and toy shops. Not much boozing was done as it was a more leisurely affair. Those that were staying past teatime went off to watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Sadly Adam and Andy K were travelling back home and Gav Spence was under orders from his good lady that if he saw it she would cut him so wisely declined. Post Cap those that remained popped off to Nandos, which turned out to be a more difficult task than it sounded due to someone (me) not quite remembering where the closest one was. FYI, it was just one block further along Sauchiehall Street. I wasn't mad it was there this morning. Post Nandos it was time to call it a day for Scotcon weekend. As always grand fun. I shall collect the various pics and post them at some point in the next few days. Scotcon Sunday witnessed the reversal of Nick's powers. Traffic lights turned green where ever this man walked! Films received 100% approval ratings! And as soon as he departed I did my knee in somehow.
Even I can not deny this new evidence.

It was a great weekend and much needed on my part. I was genuinely anxious over the new quiz format and wasn't sure if people would pretend to want to kill me or actually want to kill me over it. As people sat in silence reading the preamble from Captain Megatron I began to sweat. When folk started to crease up laughing at the questions I dared to think I'd got away with it.
Nobody broke down in tears or tried to brain me with a chair so I figure it went down quite well.

I live as well!
Oddly enough, drinking all day Saturday did nothing to harm my DIY on Sunday. Although I'm not quite sure how we'll manage to get the cupboards back on the wall...
But it was great to meet you all, and to put some names to some faces. Now if only I could remember everything that was said...
