Bedtime reading finished the catch-up:
Flash #10 has fill-in art and is all the worse for it.
World's Finest #2 continues to be surprisingly entertaining. It appears that Perez does the modern-day bits and Macguire the flashbacks. This works quite well this issue as the action is in the present day and the flashbacks are largely character-driven.
Wolverine and the X-Men #12-ish is an AvX cross-over. I haven't been following the wider story at all, and nothing I see here makes me want to reconsider that. It's still well-written for what it is though, and I love Bachalo's art.

Earth 2 #3 is a serious nosedive in quality for my money. The dialogue is really stilted, especially around the origin of GL, and the threat in the cliffhanger did nothing for me. I'm going to drop this unless I hear good things about #4.
World's Finest #3 I still found to be quite enjoyable, largely due to Perez and Macguire on art. The latter is perfect for the flashbacks when they're not being superheroes and not even wearing costumes (yet), and Perez does good work on the present-day big superhero fight stuff.
The Muppets #1 is pure joy.

Avenging Spider-Man #9 I bought due to a soft spot for Carol Danvers. It's quite good, and promising for the ongoing. The bank-funded armoured police vs. the super-powered but slightly naive activist is interesting and thus far well-handled.
Wolverine and the X-Men #lost-count is another cross-over with A vs (yawn) X, but thankfully uses it as back-drop to an unexpected character spotlight for Warbird. And it's very, very good. I found it quite touching.
Also, Phoenix-powered X-Men need a good kicking. My one and only issue of A vs X may be the last in the hope of seeing that.
Marceline and the Scream Queens #1 is the first Adventure Time spin-off, and I also enjoyed it a lot. The best band comic I've read since somewhere in the middle of Scott Pilgrim, if that doesn't sound too much like faint praise. I didn't find it quite as funny as AT, but it's still entertaining and engaging and the writer-artist does a fine job on both fronts.

I have spent some of this weekend and the earlier part of this evening reading my way through Strikeforce Morituri, yes all of it. I remember liking the early issues that I read back in the day, and my love for them has not really faded. It is a wonderful premise - we can make you a supersoldier, but at some point in the next year you will certainly die (should the enemy not kill you first). It is a wonderfully doom-laden premise and one that I think makes the Gillis run stand out from other superhero books.
I do think that the wheels start to come off a bit once Hudnall comes on as writer though, and by the time you get to the Electric Undertow mini-series it feels like it really has been dragged kicking and screaming into being something completely divergent from what it started out as, and the transition really doesn't do it any favours. Ah well - the Gillis run still stand up very well I think.

Caught up on the last 3 issues of Daredevil today - this is such a good comic, well deserving of its Eisner hat-trick. Samnee's art on #16 featuring Ant-man is wonderful.
Also caught up on last 2 of Wonder Woman. Still enjoying this, though not being all that big on DC the much-talked about cliffhanger to #12 didn't mean a lot to me. It seems a bit of a left turn for a series which could almost pass as a non-DCU Vertigo take on WW.

Dropped the Panini titles. I was getting them out of habit and they just take up space. Needed to prune the comics budget anyway due to my need to, er, acquire all paper copies of Transformers: Regeneration One. Dropped The Phoenix when the sub ended. Great comic, but space and budget issues meant it had to go and I did my bit to support quality UK kids comics!
Keeping up with 2000AD, Chew, Uncanny X-Men, Wolverine & The X-Men and the TF titles digitally. Also actually quite enjoyed the new digital Space:1999 comics which are surprisingly decent. Still pick up the odd paper Commando when the mood takes me (the app is crap) but that's about it for comics reading at the moment. I would get into more but even digitally comic prices are just too high to be reading too many titles.

Bought and caught up on issues 2 - 4 of Mind MGMT after having been distracted by Events in July. A really compelling comic with some very, very good art, making good use of serialisation.
It's feeling a bit like early Lost at the moment, hinting at bigger things and answering questions with questions in a way that makes you want to know more. I hope it doesn't derail.
Also continuing to enjoy Adventure Time. It's hard to believe it's originally a cartoon, it feels so at home as a comic.

Wolverine and the X-Men 17 is continuing to make me smile just thinking about it. A Doop focus with Mike Allred on art which makes a nice callback to X-Force / X-Statix but fits in well here and is very, very funny. Jason Aaron is just the best.

The Space: 1999 digital comics are now moving beyond adaptations to do stories about what was happening on Earth just before, during and after September 13th 1999. Series continues to hold my attention. Looks stunning.

I think that when I get myself a tablet device. (And it is a when, not an if, now) I will probably be picking some of those up. The first issue was fantastic, and if they have kept the quality up then it will be well worth my while.

Now that some titles are 3 issues in, thanks to double shipping, any opinions on Marvel NOW! (apart from how awful the title is)?
I found Iron Man #1 disappointing, didn't get a feel for how the book will be at all and Land's art always puts me off, but will be back for the second arc apparently featuring some freelance peacekeeping agent action.
All New Avengers has been surprisingly entertaining; I was very wary of picking up a new Bendis team book. It's not perfect, and what was going on with Magneto's powers in #3 smacked of plot convenience rather than logic, but is enjoyable enough so far especially with top notch Immonen art.
Thor is marvelous, Jason Aaron just totally getting what he can do with a character not unlike his Ghost Rider run. I don't know how well it fits established canon, but I like it. Nice art from Ribic too.
Avengers #1 by Hickman is nicely executed but doesn't quite get going; it was good enough for me to want to stick with it for now though. Again, lovely art.
Indestructible Hulk #1 by Waid and Yu is quite fun, possibly mildly disappointing seeing how good DD is right now, but I'll stick with it.
Still have FF #1 in my to-read pile; I've never been terribly impressed by Fraction, but like Allred and it looks like fun. I have a feeling it isn't going to live up to X-Statix though.

I've realised I've got very behind on my Wolverine & The X-Men in floppy format. I considered catching up but let's face it there's a good chance Panini will be starting to reprint it in two months time.
X-Factor continues to be it's usual decent value with the dregs of the X-Universe that nobody else wants.
Glad Remender's X-Force is done: it never clicked as well with me as much as the Kyle/Yost title did. These'll be on eBay shortly as they're being reprinted in Wolverine & Deadpool.
I'm finding the new Cable & X-Force to be a much better title in it's 3 issues.

I considered catching up but let's face it there's a good chance Panini will be starting to reprint it in two months time. I have only just picked up the first few issues of that digitally. But as it has been pay-day I need to pick up some more. I think I quite enjoy lagging behind titles a bit and picking them up in chunks via the digital medium. With the exception of 2000AD. Tooth is an every week digital purchase for me - I think there is something about the anthology format that lends itself to that. At the moment my major purchases have been the first few issues of Wolverine and the X-Men, and the first few of IDW's Larry Hama Gi Joe series. I think I will be picking up some more of both in the very near future. Need to have a think about what else I want to start picking up again now that I have kicked the Panini reprint book habit (enforced cold-turkey - they were taking up too much room) Karl

My comics habit has shrunk and shrunk until now when I only buy one title a month and get trades out of the library. Don't have space for piles of physical comics/trades anymore, they eat up too much money relative to time spent reading them, generally very expensive anyway and I'm not always happy with the resolution of digital comics. Sorry to say it, but I've seen yarr comics with better resolution than on Comixology which seems to be very variable in quality. And I want to own digital comics not the licence to read them.

The license and resolution are the two biggest bugbears with Comixology that I have.
And yes most CBR's are done better than the default ComiXology comics, having seen the CMX-HD versions on Graham's iPad3 compared to mine it was night and day.
I think the biggest problem is that the comics publishers don't really format the files correctly before bunging them into comixology.
