Reading it weekly has helped it immensely. I'm not sure how well 3 and a bit issues and a four week gap would help it's readabilty given the way the story is structured.

Discovered this while looking up when the subsequent new X-books will be collected, and it looks like they're all collected together under Dawn of X? I had been planning on skipping some of the series, so that's a bit annoying.
