It's not pretty but needs must. The Quest for all X-Men in Paperback Trades is The Quest.
I've already got the HC of this one cos it was a favourite and unreprinted in trades!

Is this the one where Colussus exploded but later turned out to be ok or the one where Professor X turned out to be evil?

Neither.
Not sure what your first one is (possibly Age of Apocalypse?) but the second is Onslaught.
This is where the mysterious Bastion rounds up all the Mutants. Half the X-Men are stuck in space at the time, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey & Cannonball end up imprisoned and Iceman forms a scratch team to combat the threat.
Has the best J Jonah Jameson appearance outside of ASM in it. Possibly better than the ones inside it too, cracking issue.
Unfortunately shortly after there were some editorial mandated changes, the writers walked and I stopped buying X books for the only time ever.
But Operation Zero Tolerance itself is cracking.

First one he is referring to is after the Neo stuff where Colossus injects himself with the cure for the Legacy Virus. Just before Eve of Destruction.
I agree that issue of Uncanny with Jonah was brilliant.

Colossus dying cured the Legacy virus, I forget how, but there was a body afterwards. He was cremated IIRC.
Sadly my copy of Dream's End is in Swindon, I am in London, the trade isn't on Comixology and I didn't buy those issues. Next sale.....

My memory is that he exploded. I am sure of it.
In other news, I saw that Paninivision had now moved on to the recent volume of Uncanny. How bad can it be? I stopped reading a while ago as the x-comics had turned to excrement once more.

Probably from this page: He doesn't physically explode, dying body is on the next page, but his power signature flares up and it sure does look like an explosion.

The problem with O:Zt was how quickly they pulled back from the premise afterwards. Also I can't order any of those X-Men Milestones book - that trade dress is repugnant. OZT trade arrived today. Had a quick flick through and my eye was caught by X-Men 70 www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/comic.php?comicid=120112I keep forgetting how much I love this issue: The X-Men return home to find the mansion gutted, they need to get a bomb out of Scott's chest and the Juggernaut arrives with his lawyer. Maggott and Cecilia Reyes are both great in the issue... so of course they're the characters that get ditched in the subsequent reboot where the Wolverine KO Marrow gets retained.

The book has arrived. Looks nice. I will read it after I finish an absolutely terrible X-Men novel (on page 600 of 688). I am in need of a good X-Men tale and have managed to avoid all HOXPOX spoilers so don't tell me anything!!!
Amazon has 16 (!) Dawn of X trades listed. Is that what follows?
