They may not look retail quality, but they do show the massive amount of versatility in the toy line since CW. It's possible to integrate so much. Play value!

Been catching up on a massive range of missed figures in my absence from the hobby for the last 6 years or so and have been watching a lot of the combiner wars reviews.
It truly annoys me that they turned so many G1 faves into Combiners. I feel like this takes away from the unique abilities of the original combiner toys.
Of course the advantage of this line, is it has brought the OG Combiners into the CHUG Scale and given us updated figures of our old favourites.
Now I don't really have any interest in the G1 Non-combiners becoming combiners, but do appreciate that it has brought certain figures, like Skylynx.
However, the Optimus Prime figure really captured my interest. Mainly because as a Kid, obviously Optimus Prime was my hero, and whenever a bigger, badder more heroic version was released (Powermaster Prime and G2 Laser Rod Optimus Prime), I never managed to get my hands on them. So when I saw the CW Voyager Class Optimus Prime's Combiner Head, all those feelings of a bigger, badder Optimus Prime rushed back to me and my creative cogs creaked into life and my inner child got super sugar hyped!
What if I used some of the bots I had no interest in to build a better colour co-ordinated Super Duper Prime? Like Ironhide and Fireflight (who i do want as part of Superion) to give him red arms, and Smokescreen and Mirage to give him blue legs?
That might be the Super Duper Whooper Prime I always wanted?
Might even consider the Hot Rod chest piece!
So in conclusion, what are your experiences with and opinions on the Combiner Wars line and has anyone done anything interesting with them as there is quite a few possibilities for them?
(Also searched to see if there was a combiner wars thread specifically and yeilded nadda. I do expect this to be moved!)

One of the benefits of the CW system is that any limb can go anywhere on any torso, so you can build as you like. That's the play pattern (unless you're the Doctor, where that's the most heinous crime ever).
I have most of the combiners from that line and absolutely love them, teams and combiners being my favourite type of Transformers. I don't need the car robots to combine and those figures have been superseded by the newer WfC ones, but I'm keeping hold of them because I love the combiner idea.
It's also possible to get those combiners looking really good with a few 3P add-ons, particularly kits that give feet with ankle tilts.

I have had my eye on a Bruticus Upgrade kit. Bruticus was my fave combiner as a kid and the Takara Unite Bruticus is beautiful. He just needs feet!

It's been a while since this thread has been up for air so I would imagine it was a page or 2 back in the search results. LOVE the Op Combiner core, one of my favourite toys in the line. Would love a stand alone Voyager but my existing one, my second following an accident trying to fix the hips, is like all my other CW Voyagers suffering from Combineritus and is stuck in Torso mode. It's a shame there (STILL) isn't a Megatron Tank Torso to go opposite it, especially one with a Galvatron Combioned mode head. Similarly the white Battle Core Op should have had an Ultra Magnus head! They also missed a trick not repainting the Legends Car in yellow as Bumblebee to go with Op. Out of the entire CW/POTP/UW/Legends range of CW style combiners I'm just missing the Japanese versions of Menasor and Convoy Grand Prime |

We need to take an updated photo but hauling 7 crates of combiners down the stairs needs to wait till the chums can join me again. Red Arms.... assuming you want just Autobots, Alpha Bravo and Ironhide. Blue Legs..... is a bit more difficult. Smokescreen and G2 Air Raid maybe? I might need to get the boys and girls out for a look |

I went Hasbro with that one because I prefer the toy colours on Bruticus. Combiner Wars were awesome though. Got me back into collecting after a period of feeling uninspired by new TF toys. I still have my beloved Stunticons and Terrorcons. The Terrorcons in particular are fabulous. And Devastator of course. I initially wanted more when they were announced. But I think the repaintiness of the line took some of the shine out of it. I did also have the Perchance to Dream Dream Team, but my revisiting of the comic story made me fall out of love with that concept. Sad, but righteous. Only CW Prowl remains.

I dont have takara versions of any Hasbro releases, but only Computron is really anything but deco difference as I got Blast off, Slingshot and groove when Hasbro did them.
So not counting those, Im just missing Baldigus, Inferno and I may not have have either Selects Swoop or Ricochet.
One day I'll get Inferno and I do want the UW Computron, because the changes are significant enough and the best version of Computron uses both sets, but its a lot of money. Baldigus would be nice but Ive got CWG2 Bruticus and those colours are not getting topped and again money.
I wish I had grabbed UW Wheeljack when Toy-Fu had it, it looks so nice, but I really dont need another redundant Wheeljack.
Still waiting on G2 Defensor.

Curry-Gar's card marks him as part of Sky Lynx's team but he's no use to the Combiner
Many use Viper as Galvatronus' gun.
