Baldigus would be nice but Ive got CWG2 Bruticus and those colours are not getting topped and again money. I spoke too soon. Baldigus colours give G2 Bruticus a serious run for his money. The far superior hands and feet tip the victory to Baldigus. |

The proper, meant to be team, teams arent going anywhere even if the new Stunticons turn out ot be great. But the Autobot cars and Dinobots that have been redone (or where done before) Im kind of on the fence about. Its not like I wouldnt still have the moulds many, many times over. Even Sky Lynx got reused for Liokiaser. |

The annoying thing is the PotP dinobot limbs are close to perfect. Shitty retrosaur modes, and too small (except Swoop) are the only problems.
Leader sized versions are way too big (except Sludge), and will still have shitty retrosaur modes, but look worse in robot, if Slag is an example of the others.

Megatronia is probably my favourite, in terms of colour schemes - the co-ordinated black and neon just looks great. Grand Galvatron's a close second - everyone should have a Grand Galvatron. The only other official sets of combiners I have are G2 Superion and the Hasbro Technobots, both of which are okay, but somehow less special. Between the conjunx and I we've probably got Defensor and Sky Reign, too, but we'd need to have our figures organised and accessible in order to know for sure.
Of course, my favourite unofficial combiner is the Perchance to Dream Team, which is why I'll never get rid of any of those Autobot cars that have now been superseded by WFC. And also because combining teams is fun.
Edit: Oh yeah, and we've got Volcanicus too. But a) it's no Combiner Wars, and b) well, you know...

These last few months I've swapped all my Hasbro combiners to UW ones, I like them a lot more, especially Computron's colour scheme i also find the hip ratchets are better. Having four rotor blades on vortex is very important to me 😂. I've swapped to Takara Volcanicus and Abominus too. However with proper upgrade kits this wouldn't have been that important

I'd be tempted to upgrade on a few but I've come to the conclusion that for me its not worth it. Menasor is not that great and I now want to see what the new one looks like. G2 Superion is the superior Superion. Ditto Bruticus. Defensor (probably wrongly) strikes me as the least different (once you have deluxe groove) so I lack the urge to change it. Dinobots I dont care enough about to upgrade.
If I cared more about them I'd be tepted to go after the Autobot cars, as Ive said before I regret not grabbing the UW Wheeljack when I had the chance.
If Terrorcons were ever going cheap I'd probably get them.
I dont consider UW Computron an upgrade but I would still love one so I could mix and match the best version of Computron.

When I can get Nick in we must file the tabs down a bit and glue it. Computron really needs to be mixed and matched. I had Starscream, Orthia and whoever Inferno was, they were all really poor to me. Takara Abominus joints are very good, they stand much better than POTP did.

Personally I'm not fond of that mold in general. Neither Strafe, nor Blastoff are terribly impressive (though I like the Blastoff version better). Not the worst cw/potp deluxe, but lightyears from the best.
The CW Strafe is a better mold, and a much neater looking vehicle mode. I wish it had gotten another use.
I'm also not terribly fond of the groove/afterburner/wreck-gar mold, either.

I don't know whether to be excited or terrified by the prospect of new Special Teams figures. A good combiner is the pinnacle of any Transformers line for me, but if we're getting a new Menasor next year that starts a new aesthetic/size then they'll have to go on to do the others and all of a sudden the whole Combiner Wars line looks out of place. |

Some folk seem to think next year's Commander is an improved Motormaster with additional combiner parts or something. I don't think there's been any evidence of this, but Bogatan knows how to listen in the right places...
edit: meant Commander, not Titan.

If it's a beefed up Motormaster designed to work with the CW limbs, I can really get behind that (although with the Perfect Effect kit, the CW one looks great anyway), but I'm not sure how I feel about it if it means four of the deluxe slots next year are Stunticons. Infact if they're going slavish Sunbow now, the limbs could even be Voyagers. If it's a Motormaster following the Rodimus principle this year, then so be it.
I can't see it being the whole team though. Remember now we're told that classes are a price point rather than a toy size (eg Voyager Hot Rod, Deluxe Cliffjumper), so a Commander wouldn't be five robots because that would make it more Titan class in terms of price.

Its an odd one. Commander class makes sense if they want to do a proper update of MM thats about the size of Leader class Op with trailer. And its more justified being bumped to Commander class than Rodimus as the trailer wouldnt be a mostly empty box. But if they do that MM will be fricken huge in robot mode and the limbs would have to be huge as well. That seems unlikely.
So maybe Leader class Primes cab and trailer size, but MM robot mode, which looks like MM this time and not a black OP, is formed either just from the cab or cab and part of the trailer. The rest of the trailer it to bulk out he combiner mode.
I also hope they continue to use the CW combiner joint, its effective and whatever they replaced it with would almost certainly be largely the same so whats the point?

Unless it's engineered so the cab becomes a show accurate robot/torso while the trailer becomes a base?
I have to be honest, Motormaster would be my number one choice for a Torso redo. Never felt right in any of it's modes. The Stunticon limbs otoh are generally really good and not far off what they should be so I could see them going "Hey kids here's the replacement torso for the toys you bought 8 years ago!"..... if it wasn't for the eight years ago bit!

A Motormaster with trailer that has a base mode and evil robot car chum would be ace (essentially remake the G1 toy). I've never been keen on modern Motormasters as they don't have a trailer!!!
