Indeed, due to the stupid prices of single issue US comics these days. More casual readers may not know that though. I can see some folk dropping a title or two. When comics for kids hit £4 I find that sad.

Especially as I'm now on one a week. When Civil War ends I shall go back to three. Possibly even just X-Men and Legends if the Avengers storylines don't appeal.

Uncanny Avengers, starting next issue, is the best that title has been IMO.

I'd decided to junk ASM & MWOM anyway, as previous posts will confirm.
But the news that Wolverine & Deadpool is going 2:1 in favour of Deadpool moves that onto shaky ground too. Really was expecting Old Man Logan. Need to see what the X-32 Wolverine is like.

I generally enjoy MWOM. Only Agents of Shield hasn't appealed to me. I like the mix of stories and Daredevil and Silver Surfer have been superb. I like what they've printed of Ms Marvel. It's nothing earth shattering but it has a certain something to it I can't quite put my finger on it.

Avengers felt big, but then they're 100 pagers. Maybe the paper has changed. Are you still after civil war 5?

As a rule, 100 pages feels more than 76.

You may scoff, but I've had a look at this. I didn't go as far as the milimetres, but this month's books have been printed on an inferior paper which is thicker than the stock used previously. With an old hundred pager in one hand and one of the new ones in another you can feel the difference.

I've just seen in shops today
Aston Spiderman v6 #1 100 pages £3.99 with ad for Avengers Universe v2 #1 100 pages £3.99
So does this mean all comics are going back to #1? Are all issue going to be £3.99 or just 100 pagers & 76 one sbeing £3.50?

Have you read the last few pages Pete?
New #1s now Panini have finished Secret Wars and are onto All New All Different.
#1s are 100 pages, then back to standard page count, both as per usual.
The price increase is rising costs, due to the outcome of the Brexit vote and will be the standard cost for issues now.

FFS! Avengers Universe #1 spoils the mystery of who the new Thor is in their Avengers text guide before that story has run in Marvel Legends. Not *@ happy! I thought the titles were supposed to be in tandem now? Their own schedule just blew the months long mystery plot!

Which Thor issue is Legends up to?

Issue 7.
Thing is, the Avengers strip in AU isn't the spoiler it's the guide to the team written by Paninivision! All it needed was the bit on Thor to say 'her identity is currently a mystery'. It's a fuck-up of their own making.

Even bigger oops when you find out when the reveal is in the comic!
Is there a Legends due before Avengers Universe 2?

The Legends relaunch was a bit weird all round given only Iron Man tied into the post Secret Wars storyline. As a jump on issue it'd have been confusing because of where the other two stories are up to.
Is there anything missing from Iron Man? Did Superior finish properly and is this new Invincible IM the next in sequence?

I have Paninied. Civil War (Your 5 went in the post this morning Browny, sorry for the delay) pads out with stories from Choosing Sides and The Return as well as ASM & CW itself. X-Men is 3 issues of All New and an Extraordinary. Letters says Uncanny starts issue 3, no to Old Man Logan printing in X-Men or Wolverine & Deadpool. MWOM is the penultimate episode of Daredevil, Shield 8 & 9. 3 Shield issues to go www.comixology.co.uk/S-H-I-E-L-D-2014-2015/comics-series/30665 New line up confirmed as Ms Marvel, Dr Strange & Black Widow, which I think we knew. Someone asking for Vision gets told no, big shame. Buy the trade.

Seems odd that Old Man Logan is being skipped. A shame Vision is not being printed. I have heard good things about it.

I've got the first volume and it's VERY GOOD.
Different, might not be everyone's cup of tea.
I can understand MWOM doing Dr Strange, with the film coming up. And they really should have been doing Ms Marvel from the start. But what's the rationale behind doing Black Widow?

|
Post by The Doctor on Aug 25, 2016 21:44:32 GMT
Black Widow is a very popular character among folk who like the Marvel films so it makes sense to print that material in a newsstand title. Likely to appeal more to a general audience than dedicated comics fans where BW series haven't tended to sell well. It's also good in 2016 for the Paninivision to look like less of a sausagefest!
