FUCKING SILHOh it leaked already. That was quick. But silhouettes are back! Hurrah! I think...
Also it may actually not be a Generations toy - it might be that that logo's there because Generations product is also going to be revealed at that same event. Maybe. We'll find out soon enough. Now to see if the Conjunx has any agents on the ground who'll be at Singapore Comic Con and who'll be able to swing by the Hasbro booth to see what else they might have...

Good point. <brings Year Of The thread back from the depths> I am now going to have to reread the thread and find out why Platinum is in here too.....

I thought that looked familiar. Steelbane was an awful toy. I think I binned mine it was that bad.

Oh, I quite like the look of it.
But then I also bought Tf Go! Optimus Prime just because it was a dragon, so what do I know?

I saw this a few days ago and thought it was a new mould. I don't know Steelbane. But then, I allowed myself to almost entirely forget that film and have forgotten many of the toys along with it. Though I was given a copy of the DVD the other day and will probably soon try to watch it for the second time.
I do like the look of this dragon.

Steelbane was mostly an original toy. I think the name got retconned onto an unnamed generic knight in the movie after the fact.
So it doesn't really matter if you remember the film or not, Steelbane pretty much wasn't in it.
It sucks the toy had bad QC flaws because it kinda rocks as a design.

I enjoyed Steelbane a lot more once I'd applied some nail varnish to the ball joints. It really is a nice design!
I only wish SS Mirage could be saved so easily...

Looks lovely. That would be an insta-purchase were it not for the fear of Steelbane. We need some reviews.

The one on the tail's a bit naff too. Now you've pointed that out, I remember that well from the original toy. It does look rubbish.

That does look really nice. I love the colour, and it isn't a mold I've got any real knowledge of at all. The way the dragon arms fold backwards to make it look like it has some sort of bracers on the humanoid mode forearms is quite fun too. Also, display stand - too few Transformers come with decent display stands

Yeah, this is looking good. And it's a unique thing, too. Whilst I'm a bit sad we're not getting another mad repaint like Year of the GOAT Optimus, this is a nice figure in its own right. I'm hoping they'll be kicking around in Singapore long enough for an agent there to acquire one for me...

Flight stands are the second most pointless/worst thing to ever happen to action figures (just behind blast effects) so that will go in the bin. The figure itself looks fab and does interest me. I'll wait and see what the QC reports are though, given how the previous version of this mould and decide then.

I quite like blast effects, I thought that was fun. And I could be sold on flight stands. That toy does nothing for me whatsoever, mind.

Or to display them in jet mode. And yes, in this case, I am counting arranging a display as play, as it's enjoyable and folks have fun doing it.

For me they are an additional form of getting joy from my toys, not a replacement for play. I can see why they don't work for you, and in your case they are indeed pointless. But they do bring a lot of pleasure to other folks and they have a point for them. Karl

I was a big skeptic of action figure stands for a long time until a few years ago. I picked up one of the official Transformers ones that Takara did out of curiosity quite a while back but never did anything with it, then when the Earthrise Strike Plane mould came out it suddenly came into it's own - I could have one of those planes on my desk with it taking up limited space and looking pretty dynamic, too. And it's not hard to pick it upand whoosh it around then put it back again.
In that respect not unlike a musical instrument stand, where you can put it while it's not being played but it's convenient for when you next do.
