I thought Luigi's Mansion was a bit too short. I played it when the Gamecube was launched and completed it in about a fortnight.

spend Friday and the weekend immersed in Mario. That sounds fairly disgusting.

Stupid Zelda... I have all the hearts, magic armour etc. All I'm missing 2 bugs and 9 poes.
The bugs I should be able to track down, the poes, I can't be arsed!

IGN has some good guides on Zelda:TP if you ever become stuck with finding some of the bugs or poes. I checked on it but have so far only used it to track down a few of the bugs I'm missing as the game is too good to use a complete guide on.

Found the bugs! Huzzah. Can't believe I missed them, they were staring me in the face.
Now there's 1 chest I can see by the south exit of castle town that I can't get to. I'll figure it out... grrr... No doubt it's only going to have 100 Rupees in it, but gosh darnitt, I've figured out every other puzzle in this godforsaken game, I'll figure this one out too.

There's a good map on Gamefaqs for hearts, Poe's and bugs. I got them all - the Poe's were the most annoying. My last one was in the snow dungeon behind some statue near the entrance. Only found it after going through every poe location in order.
Do let me know how to get to that chest if you figure it out. I never got that either.

You'll no doubt figure out how to reach it when you least expect it. The good thing about Zelda games is that you discover some things by accident. I found two seperate Spinner tracks on rock faces in Hyrule Field and checked them out as soon as I had obtained the Spinner. One is tricky to reach the end but it leads to a heart piece while the other leads to a secret hole that wolf Link must dig at to get inside. Defeat the Stalfoses inside to get *surprise, surprise* another heart piece.

If I hadn't already said I had all the heart peices you'd be looking on the wrong side of a spoiler beating right now!
The Eldin Bridge was a "OH SHIT... THAT'S WHAT THAT IS" moment.

Finished Metroid Prime 3 last night. Got all the items and did it in just over 18 hours according to the in-game counter. I'm sure that doesn't include time looking at the maps and logs so I probably clocked in about 5 hours more than that. If I could be arsed I could add up my play time from the Wii message board (why can't you see the totals of playtime anyway - I need this feature Nintendo!).
Anyways it was a great game, my second favourite in the Prime series after the first one. The controls where superb all the way through; playing with the nunchuk and wiimote really felt natural. I regret playing on Veteran first time through as it was a touch too difficult at time. Standard encounters with regular enemies were better as their was a greater element of risk, but some of the boss battle ended up being massive tests of endurance. It was mainly the earlier bosses that caused me problems but once you have a few abilities and the game opens up I could explore and get more missiles and energy tanks to make the later bosses a bit easier. I still think I had 1 mandatory death on each boss to find out it attack patterns and weak spots, and usually I hate that kind of game mechanic. However I reckon on Normal you could take down most bosses on your first go.
The ending, even for a Metroid game, was cack, and I didn't like the other characters or voice acting in the game. However the bits I like about Metroid (the puzzles and exploration) were top notch. I will admit I dumbed down the shooting for myself (kept auto-lock on, making it play a lot more like the first two Prime games) as I felt the advanced controls felt too FPS-like in combat for my tastes, but it is great that there is the option to do that.
The game also get 1 million points for having the ability to unlock the item locations on the maps later in the game, making hunting down those last few items a breeze. Only had to look on GameFAQs for one item, which was in part of Brryo you can't see from the main map (the Ice section if you play it - remember those spiderball tracks for later!). Every game with a collection element should have an in-game option like this to help find items. I liked how Twilight Princess had the fortune teller who would reveal locations of heart pieces - shame they didn't have a similar feature for the poes and bugs.
There was a fetch quest at the end of the game, which some people found annoying. However as I generally go back and get every item I can as soon as I acquire an ability, I'd finished the fetch quest well before the final section so wasn't bothered about this at all. It's also much better than the fetch quest at the end of Prime 2.
Overall awesome game, highly recommended. I think technically its the best in the series but Prime 1 beats it out if only because the initial wow factor has now worn off. I'm now to relax in an Endless Ocean.

Does anyone want a copy of Zack and Wiki for £28? I ordered it online last week, but it was out of stock, saw it today in Grainger Games for £30 and decided to get it then cancel my order. In between me going for lunch and coming back my online order shipped. D'oh!

Finally got around to playing Zack and Wiki this week (I've been a bad boy and been sucked into World of Warcraft the last month). What a cracking little game. Some of the Wii remote actions are a bit shit but otherwise it's a great little puzzler. Just got to the fire section.
Mario Kart is in 2 weeks and I'm super excited for it. Anyone else getting it? I'll create a thread for it nearer the time but we need to get some Hub Death Races going. Upto 12 players in multiplayer! Brrrrm.
Also want to get No More Heroes but I'm going to have to clear the Wii backlog a bit before I can play that.

I am so stoked about Smash Bros that I haven't even given Mario Kart any thought. I will get it, not too sure about the Wii Wheel though. Already have too many accessories for the wii with the guitar and the zapper, and the balance board isn't too far off.

Well the wheel is just a free bit of plastic tat that you could in theory just bin. I want to use it though!
Smash Bros doesn't have a UK release date (still) so I'm not expecting to see it here until Sept/Nov. I'm trying to forget about it until then. I was tempted to get the US version now there is a working Wii Freeloader, but Nintendo will probably be closing the loophole that allows it to work very shortly. I don't really want to choose between never updating my Wii again and being able to play Smash.

I'm going to get Mario Kart when it comes out also and I'm hoping its going to be better than Double Dash. I've played every Mario Kart game ever made and I still believe that Mario Kart 64 is the best one in the series.
I'll have to get round to playing the Wii again soon because I haven't played it for about two months. Maybe when I get another week off work I'll get round to completing Twilight Princess as I'm right near the end of that game.

Well the wheel is just a free bit of plastic tat that you could in theory just bin. I want to use it though! I have a collector mentality, I couldn't just bin something, no matter how much I don't need it. As for the freeloader, it's taking a lot of willpower to not buy it. All my Gamecube games are US or Japanese so it would be nice to be able to play them on the Wii. But yeah, waiting for 2 firmware updates to see if it stays working. I'm going to get Mario Kart when it comes out also and I'm hoping its going to be better than Double Dash. I've played every Mario Kart game ever made and I still believe that Mario Kart 64 is the best one in the series. Never had a 64 so couldn't get into Mario Kart 64. My favourite is the DS version, mainly for the ease of multiplayer. 8 player is great.
