Yeah I'm looking forward to that. I just hope they get a better level designer for NSMB:Wii - the DS levels are very weak compared to the other 2D Mario games.

4 player mario sounds good, but the Nintendo stuff at E3 seems to have been pretty uninspired - that pulse reader thingy looks pretty rubbish for one.
I'm hoping that one or other of the soon to be released motion plus sports games, particularly grand slam or virtua tennis, is good as wii sports is still my favourite game by far.

Video and screenshots of Transformers: ROTF on the Wii. The game looks fun, though I'm disappointed that the graphics appear worse than the 2004 PS2 TF Armada game.

Sports Resort turned up yesterday and is real good stuff. OK I can't see me playing Basketball much and I got bored doing the flying game but there's a lot of fun to be had with the others. Showdown is definetly the best though.

What is this little add-on thingy that comes packaged with the game? I've heard a bit about it but have never seen one.

MotionPlus. It just clips onto the bottom of the Wiimote - and has a pass-through port so you can still attach stuff like the nunchuck. Basically it gives more accurate motion controls and it works really well with the game matching your movements. Dueling is excellent.
The new Tiger Woods also uses it and you notice a big difference when you're putting because you can just do a putting motion and not some weird flick thing like you used to have to do. Works well with Virtua Tennis too, but as I never had another Wii Virtua (if there was one) I'm not sure if there's much of an improvement.

Got Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits today but was dismayed when I tried to play it and found the disc was faulty. The Wii had great difficulty playing the disc and after the initial loading screen came up an error message came up on the screen telling me to eject the disc and turn off the power. It's done this every time I've tried to play the disc even after I've cleaned it to try and cure the problem. The Wii can play other disc fine its just this one so it looks like a trip back to the shops is in order.

Going to pick up Wii Sports Resort on Monday. Really looking forward to trying that out - I still think the original Wii Sports is the best showcase for motion controls.
I've been plugging my way through the Wii version of Okami for the last 3 months. I thought it was going to last about 15-18 hours which would have been perfect but I'm pushing 40 hours and its out stayed it welcome now. If you don't know its a Zelda-clone (a really good one) with a heavy Japenese slant and really nice art style. The only bad thing is its too long!
As its taken me so long I've now got a Wii and 360 backlog. Got My Little King Story and Madworld in the house unplayed and I desperately want Another Code R. I need a gaming holiday to clear the backlog.

...and I desperately want Another Code R. I ordered this from Amazon recently, but with the other games I've been playing I ordered it with a book that's not out yet to give me chance to play everything else first. However Amazon sent it straight out. I've had a brief go but hardly touched it at all. Not really a problem but it seems a waste to just have it sitting there. Looking forward to giving it a proper play soon though.

Played Wii Sports resort last night. Its so big compared to the first and happily the best two games from the first made the sequel so more golf and bowling. The table tennis is a surprisingly fun alternative to wii sports tennis. The motion plus makes golf a harder game but is pleasure to use on the skydiving and well all the games really.
Need to grab another wii motion to have a go at the vs multiplayer stuff, hopefully soon.

I've got a bit of a backlog of games at the moment. I still need to complete Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. On top of that I started Super Mario RPG and Zelda: Majora's Mask on the VC but haven't got much further than the beginning of both games due to losing interest in playing computer games.

Just started to get back into playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I hope I will be able to unlock everything this time before my interest in computer games wane again.

Got WSR yesterday and have had a blast with it so far. I think shooting hoops in basketball is my favourite out of the lot so far.
Did anyone else nearly put their foot through the TV after watching the forced intro? How retarded do Nintendo think people are?

Yes that was very annoying. Then extremely annoying once I realised I couldn't skip it.

Yes that was very annoying. Then extremely annoying once I realised I couldn't skip it. Then extremely, extremely annoying when you think it's finished then another bit starts telling you how to unplug the bloody thing. Not played anymore WSR - still trying to finish Okami. Oh why won't it end?

New Super Mario Bros Wii is out soon Anyway, finally playing through Disaster Day Of Crisis. Really enjoying it, some of the best graphics I've seen on the Wii. Has similar weapon upgrade system to RE4. It's not flawless and some will say that because the game is so mixed in genre that it never really excells at any of them. Which is true, but because you're never playing any one game style for too long, you're not looking for the best driving game/shooting game whatever. If you don't have it you can pick it up on Amazon for about a tenner these days.

I might give that a go. I finished Another Code R on Monday and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Another Code/Trace Memory or Hotel Dusk on the DS. It continues the story from the DS game and has some interesting uses of the Wii remote to solve puzzles. The story is very solid and has a very mature quality to it (and not mature as in guns and tits).

OK, currently playign 3 games on Wii...
The Conduit. FPS. Not bad, but only 9 levels. Controls are excellent. Online multiplayer with Wii Speak voice chat included. People complain it's nothing new, but so what?
Spyborgs. Modern day side scrolling BEU. Hellishly derivative, but fun when played with a friend as you can do tag team special moves. There are 3 playable characters, but you can't play it 3 player, which is kinda sucky.
Dead Space Extraction. On rails shooter. Had a tough act to follow after the Wii saw House of the Dead: Overkill (which I think is one of the most fun shooters ever) earlier this year. It has multilpe paths, weapon upgrades and a very basic experience system. So all good. Voice acting is hysterical though, every character has a different accent.
All are apparantly between 6-10 hours in length, so that suits me down to the ground.

The new iPlayer channel is well worth the download. Much smoother than the old browser version and the quality is a huge improvement. Darkness looks a bit blocky at times but otherwise acceptable. Still can't use the keyboard though which is silly and it's a pitty you can't download programmes to the SD card. Still, I can see this becoming my most used version of the iPlayer.

Woo that does sounds good. I assume my Wii will be flashing blue with the update? New Super Mario Brothers Wii is out on Friday. The review on Eurogamer has got me pumped about it:

I knew it was due out today (though I hear it was actually late last night) so got it straight away. Then as I was watching my first programme, the blue light appeared to tell me "hey there's a new iPlayer out..." Looking forward to NSMBWii but I'm holding off purchasing it in case someone opts to get it as an xmas present for me.

I tried the iPlayer app last night and its glorious. The quality is 10 times better than watching it through the Internet channel and it plays in full screen too. It'll definitely be my preferred way of watching it going forward.

Can anyone recommend a good Wiimote charger? My wiimotes now discharge when not in use and it's a bit of a pain having to charge them up a bit everytime I want to play something.

I've got a charger that is also a docking station for the Wii. The Wii goes into a slot in the middle of the docking station and the Wiimotes and the nunchucks fit into slots either side of the the Wii slot. It can house two wiimotes and two nunchucks and I haven't had any problems with it. It also keeps the area nice and tidy as you can put the wiimotes and the nunchucks in the slots everytime you've finished playing. I can't remember what make it is though. Maybe I'll come back later after I've found out.

I've just checked and my Wii docking station was made by a firm called Competition Pro. Eerily it looks almost identical to the one.

Ah think I found it. Well I did a search for Competition Pro and something came up, said to be by Play On but then it mentions Competition Pro in the description...
Well anyway I'll give it a go seeing as it has the Hub seal of approval.
Cheers.
