Hi all,
My wife just got diagnosed with leukemia and will be staying in hospital over the weekend awaiting test results so we know exactly which type and what happens next. Warm thoughts would be much appreciated.

Very sorry to hear that. My sister in law has the chronic version and is coping well with it but it does very much depend on which type. Please keep us updated It's been found to be the acute type, AML, and she's beginning chemotherapy this week, possibly as soon as Wednesday. On the plus side she's in a good hospital (Charité), and is otherwise very healthy so the doctors are being as encouraging as they can be in the circumstances and have given a much better prognosis than the average. They've also selected her for a trial of a promising new drug alongside the chemo. Thanks everyone for the kind words |

Update - First round of chemo is over, it's been tough, but the doctors are cautiously pleased with the blood test results so far. Won't know anything for sure until they can test the bone marrow again though, and that's about 10 days away + a few days to get the results.

Good thoughts appreciated here. After a month of being clear of post-hospital symptoms they all came back gradually in Jan along with some new ones.
Undergoing some tests this week to look for clues and to determine how urgent additional new tests will be.
Doc and I are beginning to suspect whatever is going on may take a long while to sort itself and will involve a longer term plan to manage my energy levels etc. Spoke to a friend who has had post-viral chronic fatigue syndrome for years now and it is sounding suspiciously similar. 😕
