I'm off the "articulation is not of supreme importance" camp. Elbow joints are good, but I can live without them - God Ginrai has no elbow joints but I love him as much as I did PM Prime. (Prime used to mostly deliver body-slams, running anvil punches from the shoulder and chest height snap-kicks to Galvatron and Skorpornok in battles), hips with at least one plane of motion are necessary, but I can live without waist swivels or wrist joints. My feeling is that until you get to the Masterpiece price-point wrists are likely to be one of the first complexities to delete to bring something in under budget. Price point is much more important than size in terms of determining what kind of features you can expect in a toy. I expect less from a 20 quid toy than I do a two-hundred and change one for example. It's why I am as happy with my MP-03 as I am with my YF-19 despite the fact that the former is a much sparser offering than the latter, as this is reflected in the price point.
Given the price that they are aiming to sell these at, and the markets they are intending them for I think they've made a decent stab at getting in the level of articulation that you could expect within that budget. In some cases I would say they've gone right up to the limits - c.f. Prime's heel-tilts.

I may have preordered BIg Optimus, wee Megs, wee Optimus and wee Starscream.
Not interested in either Bumblebee...

I... think I'll wait 'til they show up in Home Bargains or B&M. Don't want to be having to pay import fees.

No guarantee that they will, given that this line is intended more for what are called "Emerging Markets" rather than the US or European ones. There is no certainty they will even be released over here.

Stranger things have happened.
Like the Generations Voyagers showing up in Smyths and B&M. We'll see. :-)

What can I say, they appeal to me. Worst case is I hate them, and end up moving them on via Toy-Fu at a later date.

I... I like them. And that Starscream actually seems to look a hell of a lot better in person. I'd only pay a tenner for them, but they're not bad. Especially for kids.
Seriously - I was at a kid's birthday party at the weekend, and one boy was running around with two - yes two - Titan Series Optimus Primes. Whilst he was clearly someone after my own heart, I didn't have the heart to go and tell him that he was missing out on having Transformers that actually transformed. (And, also, I was busy drinking cider.) If these come out over here... I wouldn't hesitate.

Hey! One of my favourite Optimus Primes back in the 80s (when I had a grand total of three Primes - if only me from then could see me now...) was a shampoo bottle shaped like Optimus Prime. And which was COMPLETELY BLACK. Yes, every time I had to go through the pain of washing my hair, I also had to suffer the mental anguish of reliving my hero's heart-breaking demise. Did I say "favourite"..?

GDO Battalion are here. Big Prime, standard Prime, Megs and Starscreams. They can all do a Delbo pose. Starscream is the clear winner, but Megs and the two Primes are fun in their own way. Andy Hmmm. Starscream looked the least good in your pictures. -Ralph

Actually Big Prime is the least good, Starscream is great to fiddle with.
Megs and wee Prime are dead on.
If there are more in this line (horrific Bumblebee's excepted) I would get them.

What's the articulation like on them? Big Prime. Head. Upper torso rotates, part of the transformation sequence but gives a good dynamic punching gesture. Arms move up and down and to the side. Elbow's are articulated. Legs are at the thigh, no knee articulation. Wee Prime Head Upper torso rotates, part of the transformation sequence but gives a good dynamic punching gesture. Upper arms have 360 up/down Elbows Legs are at the thigh, no knee articulation. Megatron Head Upper arms have 360 up/down Elbows Legs are at the thigh and knees Starscream Head Arms move up and down and to the side. Elbow's are articulated. Legs are at the thigh, no knee articulation. Andy

I do like the look of that Megs. Definitely prefer the aesthetic to the CW one. These are kiddified G2 toys and no mistake. I could see them in a G2 comic, they absolutely fit. If high end super articulated collectables is your thing you will hate these, but if you like a big chunky fun toy every now and then, you would do worse than to seek these bad boys out. Andy

Which Prime is which? There's a more traditional Op, which looks like an uspcaled Legend. Is that the big or small one?

Checking upthread, now I've moved the new posts here, I find the new style Op is 11 inches while Upscaled Legends Op, Starscream & Megatron are 7 inches.
Tweet more pictures Andu!

Is this the first time a toy had been based on grey Megs yet used a black helm?

What's the plastic quality like? does it compare to any of the modern ranges or is it thinner/cheaper?

Is this the first time a toy had been based on grey Megs yet used a black helm? In the plastic it's more brown than black. I do fancy repainting it with a blue/black Marvel style colour. Andy

Is this the first time a toy had been based on grey Megs yet used a black helm? SG Megatron used the superlink megatron mold, with a G1 styled head, and gased on marvel coloring. So this is the second with the G1 silver/grey body, and marvel black head.
