Refund from Kapow came through today, so that's off the list. Was due by last Thursday but at least it's done. I emailed Toysarama tonight because the order there has been 'awaiting dispatch' for a week now with no explanation. No change with nerd toys so I messaged them again and will await a response tomorrow. That order is a month old now. They just don't seem interested in trying to sort it out; twice they've said they'll look into it and then done bugger all. I'll go back to PayPal this time if nothing happens. Pity because that Faker is pretty cheap. The website still says it's in stock too. I don't understand them. Bloody useless.

Nothing, was my fault. I posted to point out that I'd picked up my Toysarama parcel from the sorting office this morning but it was still missing the item they can't find in their warehouse. As the dispatch email had indicated the complete order had shipped I was confused as to what was going on, but after posting here I realised they'd written on the invoice that they're still looking for it and will refund the missing item if they can't find it. Bit rubbish, but they are at least being honest and keeping me updated.

I think in general they've been okay - didn't Phil get an armload of MotU stuff from them recently? They just seem a bit disorganised in terms of knowing where their stock is.

Toysarama is the only other one I think I've used for Transformers. It gets blurred now with the MotU ones like Props and Replicas, Whole Shebang and Dinobot Island.

Am looking to head into London next month, so, apart from the usual stores, like Forbidden Planet, Hamleys, Smyths, etc. . .
Does anyone happen to know of any independent shops in the Greater or Outer London area (Well, within the Oyster/Travelcard Zones) that have a good selection of Transformers?
Any stockists of 3rd Party stuff would be good too!

Kinda what I was thinking!! I remember 15, maybe 20, years ago, every time I went to London, I'd always find really cool independent Toy or Comic shops all over the place - who stocked either really obscure stuff or Japanese/Chinese imports. That was when the Pokémon TCG juggernaut was in full flow and the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG was just getting started over here, and said small shops seemed to be flourishing and popping up everywhere. These days, to me at least, it seems finding a store like that is like finding a needle in a haystack, unless you know someone who knows someone who's friends with the owner of a shop that's hidden away down a back-alley where the tourists never go! |
