Ralph is confused. Is it a digibox that works for 3 months?

It's like a little set top box computer thing that delivers iPlayer, ITV Player, 4OD and similar to your TV. We tested it with an episode of Sarah & Duck.
One of the options is something that gives you certain Sky channels. You need to pay for that but get three months free.

The NowTV boxes, which are based on the Roku, are currently on sale for £15.
If your TV isn't a smart TV, but has HDMI in, and you want catch up channels, then you'll struggle to see a better deal. Cancel the NowTV sub before it's up and use it just as catch up.

Tell me more, what can I do with it that's not NowTV? Can I get my netflix on it?

iPlayer, ITV, C4 & C5 catchup. YouTube a few others
Couldn't see Netflix though IIRC the full Roku box does it. I assume it's blocked on the Now boxes due to competing with Sky.

Just bought an Amazon Firestick for my Mum to give her picture on the TV in her room.
Looks nice, works OK. Will she cope with it?

The stick itself is a nightmare for browsing what's available, constantly changing what subcategories are displayed.
Better to install the amazon video app and search on your phone and use that to trigger the stick to play. Or search on the website and add to your watchlist.

Bought a Firestick this week. The Now TV Box doesn't have Britbox and my TV's built in apps are missing ITV and C4 as well as being ever so slow. Used one before at Mums house and was very pleased with it. Less so now. My goodness who thought that menu redesign was a good idea? Let's squeeze the apps you've installed into a tinsy space on the main screen, limit them to five, and cover the rest of the screen with stuff you don't have Your apps are the little icons to the right of the word library! ] Is there any device out there that will offer all the major apps, with nice large icons and an uncluttered main menu? Roku and NowTV are missing Britbox and the Now Menu is a bit rubbish too now.

Hold down the home button, then select apps. (although my 4k stick hasn't updated to the new UI yet it seems)

Our very nice second-hand telly has done us very well but has been nearing its natural end as it goes increasingly wonky. Ordered a new one. Apparently it is 'smart' and had built-in apps. The Roku is cowering in the corner...

It may yet live. I've found the built in apps to be somewhat slower and the selection different on our TV
