Ralph, I think it became more economically viable to switch your order from HLJ to Kapow. Speaking of which, I did just that for everything. Didn't the EU make some sort of customs agreement with Japan recently? When does that come into effect, is it post-brexit? |

Something's changed for sure. Kapow are usually a few quid more than TFE for Japanese imports, but this time it's the other way round. Don't think that's happened before. Kapow are also way under ID - eg £34 for Megatron versus £42.

Takara releases seem to always come right at the end of the month they're due. These ones are out in Japan on Saturday, so I guess it'll take a week for shipments to get over here to kapow etc.

Kup is a massive improvement.
Hotrod still looks... off. Hasbro's plastic colors feel knockoff-ish, but takara's is purple. And he just looks wrong in purple. And still, WTH is up with the gold foil/chrome flames? I still don't get it after the better part of a year.
But he *was* purple in Marvel, so there's that.
Sharkticon is neither better, nor worse than the hasbro. Makes for a nice "command unit," though.

I think the purple looks nice.
And it's not gold foil/chrome, it's clear orange plastic for the chest, painted where not the flames. You cam just about see the underside of the driver's compartment through it. Different, I like it I think.

Yeah, I'm still liking that Hot Rod - it's ticking the right amount of boxes for me. And I've not seen the comparisons of Kup before - I didn't realise how much of an improvement his face sculpt would be. Looking forward to mine arriving now.

So glad I waited on Kup - this one looks the business. Hot Rod still doesn't really look like Hot Rod. I think I need to swap that figure out for an older one, or wait for Rodimus.

The colours are alright, it's just the figure itself. It just doesn't really feel like Hot Rod to me. It's the shoulders I think, too boxy.
