Sounds like a very relaxing little spell. Haven't been to the lake district in nearly 12 years when we did an outward bound course at ullswater.
Loved it. Absolutely stunning place.

I was in the Lake District about three-four years ago, it is indeed a rather nice part of of the world. Should be a good neck of the woods for a relaxing few days, Martin.

I take it we are definitely thinking of the Friday for this then? (Just so I can arrange to book the correct day off work). Karl I have snagged the Saturday morning off work so no need for me to make an early departure! Hoorah! Andy

Will it be a long-term night? Ie: Late night shenanigans? I just want to know so i can arrange somewhere to kip. I've been informed by the Missus that coming home in the wee hours is unacceptable!

I don't know if will be an excessively late night, it's just travelling back from Glasgow means realistically if I was at work I'd have to be leaving around 9pm in order to get a train to Edinburgh and then one to Dunfermline. Snagging the half day means I have more leeway.

I think AdBot is confused by this thread:
Battle of Hastings facts Thinking of buying? Compare 100s of retailers' prices at shopping.com uk.shopping.com
It has also brought up "Ralph Lauren Outlet" and "Ralph Goings", which probably means our Ralph posts too much. Or he's trying to take over The Hub. Possibly both.

All booked up now, trains & hotels. Two nights in Windermere (12th & 13th), two nights at Travelodge Glasgow Central (14th & 15th) and one night at my sister's in Liverpool (16th).
Any further plans for the Friday?
Martin
PS Karl did kindly offer me his spare room in Falkirk, but what with all my hopping about I think I'll enjoy it more having a full day without any train travel, and I feel like spoiling myself.

Any thoughts on times and places for meeting?
I depart Cardiff on Tuesday morning, so having some plans in place before then would be just spiffing.

Are we going to be bowling, or will it be a simple pub-meet?
