JP is a good mate, an absolute class act. Always enjoy spending time with him. Kei is an amazing artist, Ed is still jealous I nabbed a G2 Grimlock from her before he could get it.

The closing of 2015 marks the beginning of a new chapter.
Andrew
We are honoured to welcome Andrew to the crew as TFNation’s head of publishing. Andrew has contributed artwork, prose stories and editorial skills to various fanzines, comics and convention exclusive publications over the decades.
A Transmasters UK veteran, Andrew is particularly knowledgeable about the original Marvel UK run of Transformers comics. We are sure his guiding hand will help the crew to ensure there is something for all generations of fans at TFNation
David and Steven M
The Mapes twins are well known members of the Transformers online community and the founders of the Transformers At The Moon website. They are perhaps best known for their hugely impressive collection of rare ‘lucky draw’ Transformers. To this day they still provide displays and panels to numerous conventions.
Using their professional skills, David and Steve have custom built a bespoke ticket sales website for the convention, with an emphasis on security and ease of use. The site will be launched soon and we think you’ll agree it is everything our attendees deserve.
Our 2016 crew is now fully assembled. Stay tuned for breaking news later this week.

congratulations Andrew on joining the TF Nation team Where did you see that? There's nothing on their website? Actually, there's nothing on their website!!! That is because the website as it stands just now just has only a certain small level of information. The main guts of the website is to get the ticket booking side of things done, which the Mapes brothers are working on. The email/FB updates will all be on the site afterwards. Everything being done from scratch you see, but yes I am onboard. Andy

I'm torn between which to do in 2016, TF Nation because it could do with the attendance being good, or RORC because it is my local con made it big, ish. Also a lot easier to get to.
Bah.

Well I will be at one, and will try for RORC, but it's T in the Park Weekend so I might struggle for days off depending on what my schedule is then. Heard a lot of good things about previous RORC and do want to visit it, and of course given I am involved in TFN I know there will be some good stuff there! Andy

Andy is now involved? Now the nation of Domination theme playing in my head every time I read or hear the name TFNation is now justified.

Well there is room enough for both, and as RORC has a more split focus, TFN is still the only TF convention as such.
Like I said elsewhere though Dave is a top bloke and I've had a lot of good feedback from people who've went to RORC so I'd encourage people to visit both.

RORC was great. I even thoroughly enjoyed the Action Force panels (and I'm not being facetious, the Joe panels were Action Force focussed and I learned a fair bit) and the stuff about that odd Masters of the Universe business. Were it in Soton again in October I wouldn't hesitate to go again, but the timing and the location will be bad for me next year. Better to wait for the holiday and go for a weekend in Brum.

GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT
Transmission_Initiated TransmissionID: 000012 TFNation_2016 Operation: Beast Wars
We are honoured to announce TFNation 2016 will see the first ever UK Transformers convention appearance of Richard Newman, who will be helping us to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Beast Wars and the 10th Anniversary of Transformers: Cybertron!
To Transformers fans, Richard is best known as Rhinox – the flower-sniffing, “Chainguns of Doom”-toting, Predacon-smacking Maximal from the Beast Wars era; a role he would later revisit in the twisted form of Tankor during the Beast Machines series.
Richard’s Transformers credentials do not end there, as he was also responsible for voicing Transformers: Cybertron’s time and space guardian, Vector Prime.
Outside of Transformers, Richard has amassed a huge resume of impressive acting work both behind the mic and on screen. Some of his many roles include; Grandfather in Pingu, Governor-General Phaeton in Exosquad; Iron Klaw from G.I. Joe Extreme; Tōtōsai from InuYasha; Cranky Doodle Donkey from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic; Rattlor, The Faceless One, Lord Dactys and many others from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002); Toadborg from Bucky O’Hare and the Toad Wars and the unforgettable M. Bison from Street Fighter: The Animated Series (YES! YES!). In 2001 his performance as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice led to a Jessie Award nomination for “Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, Large Theatre”.
Richard will be signing autographs and taking part in panels during our inaugural convention, which will run from Friday 19th and Sunday 21st August 2016.
Further transmissions to follow.

Friday at midday for tickets and it says "limited" hotel rooms, im sure Mr Turnbull can shed light on this but I guess with it being first year they get less than an established con?
|
|
|
Post by Andy Turnbull on Jan 9, 2016 21:30:15 GMT
The amount of rooms offered does vary each year, and yes our status as a new event has meant some changes, but rooms have always been limited even for AA.
Again, if you are going book your room when you get the tickets, you don't need to pay for them up front and can pay for them when you check in/check out, but it guarantees you can stay there, in respect of other hotel venues, we'll also provide some helpful information around that as well.
