Hmmm. Interesting. No new head. A Cliffjumper head wouldn't have been right. Didn't Bumblejumper have his own head?

Ohh it raises the whole MP Cliffjumper drama-a-rama!!!
If we were to put a Cliffjumper head on red MP Bumblebee.... how happy would we be with that? As a backdoor/stand-in Masterpiece Cliffjumper?

I quote from the linked thread: MP Cliffjumper, and thus Hubcap, is potentially a big problem As is well detailed his toy vehicle mode is a super deformed Porsche 924 Turbo tfwiki.net/wiki/Cliffjumper_%28G1%29/toys#Generation_1His cartoon version resembles the toy tfwiki.net/wiki/Cliffjumper_%28G1%29#The_Transformers_cartoonThe real life Porsche 924 looks NOTHING like that en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_924So what vehicle to that go with? A cartoon like version, essentially a squared off Bumblebee, or something that, while acurate, looks nothing like what people think Cliffjumper looks like and may have an impact on the robot mode. An acurate car version has the advantage that it would be easier to do a Hubcap as it would be different to BB. And I suppose create a backdoor oppotunity for a showish Cliffjumper as a red BB repaint. Phil's demonstrated the problem very clearly. Underlying Takara's desire to produce animation accurate robots they've also been trying to produce accurate licensed car modes, which is fine for the car robots but won't work for minibots who had obviously super deformed car modes. They've got away with Bumblebee because his car mode is still 'cute' when real world accurate compared to others, and Badcube got Brawn right because Brawn's car mode doesn't look deformed anyway. It's just smaller. But you can't win with Cliffjumper. There's just no way to do him and cover all the bases. I think they'd have to go with what they've started and do a real world accurate car, but given the mess they seem to have made of Ironhide in trying to mix cartoon and vehicle I wouldn't have high hopes for the end result.

THE MP CLIFFJUMPER DRAMA-A-RAMA!!!
What would have to give? Car mode for me. Cartoon accurate robot mode is more important in my collectingment. So red BB with CJ head wouldn't do.

I would say if anything that them doing a straight red repaint of Bumblebee means they won't go near that mould for Cliffjumper. If they were going to do that, this would have a Cliffjumper head, but it just doesn't work.

Damn. I actually really like the idea of this... but I guess that completely nixes any hope of getting a proper MP Goldbug. :-(

Wasn't Cliffjumper a Porcsche? yes, see above Damn. I actually really like the idea of this... but I guess that completely nixes any hope of getting a proper MP Goldbug. :-( I'd have thought MP-21G Gold BB had done that: I couldn't see them wanting to do two different gold VWs

Aye, I know. But I thought with a little remolding, to give a proper corrugated face-mask and a Throttlebot-esque hood, that it might look sufficient different for them to try it. I guess not. :-(

What, move the back piece higher up? Aye, I know you can do that with MP-21 as it is. But it's not the proper, boxy, cooker hood that the original animation/comic model has. Alas, I fear that Ralph is right.

Aye, so boxier arms, too. It's all very subtle, but what I'd want. But the car mode, though, far too similar.

I always preferred Goldbug to Bee back in the day. I loved the Goldbug toy too even though I knew it was a bit naff.

Alternatively buy a Toblerone, scrunch up the gold foil and compress it into a cube and you have...Destroyed Goldbug from the comics!

Gah! How can you say that?!? That was one of the most traumatic moments of the Marvel comics for me! Especially since, due to the comic being broken up in the UK, we had to wait a week to discover that they weren't actually dead!
Also, I really want a Toblerone now. Which is traumatic for different reasons.

I have to say I do always make sure I have a Toblerone in reserve. Just in case.
Along with a bag of Randoms and a Curly Wurly.
