I've already ranted about this on Twitter. But I'm going to rant about it here, too...
Yes, this is very nice, but why still no MP Goldbug? Or MP AM Thundercracker, if you're going to make the most out of obscure repaints?!?
Okay, I feel better now.
And actually, yeah, this is quite a nice-looking repaint. Not for me, but it's no bad.

I think you'll have to accept that MPG2 Bee pretty much eliminated any real chance of Goldbug. But the good news is Hasbro have only just gotten around to releasing Starscream in the new MP mould. And have shown they arent afraid of applying mental colours to it so we can still hope for MPAMTC. Not sure if I need Clampdown, though gotta get em all mentality may come in to play at some point. |

Never heard of him 'till today, Clampdown is a Diaclone toy, the repaint and lightbar remould of Sideswipe www.diaclone.net/orid/dia054/index.htmlThe toy was brought into the Transformers range but was restickered as a Fire Chief car rather than a Police Car and became Red Alert www.tfu.info/1985/Autobot/RedAlert/redalert.htmThe name Clampdown get's attached to the original deco of the toy for an E-Hobby release in 2003 which (iirc) accompanied Transformers Collection 07 Sideswipe www.tfu.info/2003/Cybertron/ClampDown/clampdown.htm(At the same time another e-Hobby release of another Diaclone Sideswipe redeco became Deepcover) MP Alert get the cartoon Red Alert's red head while Clampdown has the head in black making them slightly easier to distinguish at MP level. but yeah, nice repaint. Initial reaction: Nah, not an original Transformer and I've got that mould twice already.
Second reaction: Actually, the Sideswipe mould is probably my favourite MP and I quite like that deco.
Third reaction: Okay, so am I buying diaclone MPs now? do I have to buy blue Bluestreak too?

I very much regret not buying Crosscut, Roadrage, Deepcover, Clampdown & Tigertrack back in the day. But Japanese exclusives were a bit harder to obtain then.
