Hundred to an hundred and ten depending on where you shop. I'm pleased there's some buzz at last. Given Ironhide and Hot Rod shipped on time I was just thinking today that there hasn't been much build up to this one in terms of in hand and packaging shots.

Good picture set, looks great. But. Suddenly I have a But.
He looks tiny compared to MP10. The fear rushes back toward me! He's too small!

Yep. There's no way he could've even threatened to best Prime in a fight by a swamp!

Oh My God you're right!!! He's too dmall! I wasn't expecting that. Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Quakewave's going nowhere that's for sure. Oh dear. #@&%. I got The Fear bad too now. That's shocking. No pun intended.

Wow. I imagined him being an inch taller than Prime. This is disappointing.
Perhaps that would have made the gun mode too big?

Post by Shockprowl on Mar 24, 2016 7:21:33 GMT
Perhaps, but he needs to be the same size as Prime in robot mode, and therefore the same size as a MP Megatron who you'd expect to be the same size as Prime.
This a major concern. I have grave doubts. I'm all about The Display with MPs. He looks an incredible design, but if he looks off when in The Display...
Oh dear oh dear oh dear....

He's a Space Gun from space! How could that be too big?

Too big to hold in hand, the same way MP Megatron is a huge P38 so the robot is tall enough to square off against MP1.

There'll be a darker toy coloured version wont there? Has that been actually confirmed, or is it just fan theory?

I've already taken the hit on this. He's paid for. I just assumed he would match MP10. Now I look at the Sunbow scale chart I see indeed, in that world he's significantly smaller than Megatron.
This is a disaster. Quakewave will remain!

I have to get him. I have to. But yes, Quakewave will be in The Display. MP Shockwave, a gorgeous looking figure, isn't as perfect as I thought. Quite gutted.

I could not give a toss what size it is so long as it is a fun toy to play with and looks like Shockwave!

I wish I did not give a toss, but I do give a toss. Robot scale is very important to me, but my head won't accept Sunbow is right on this. However, it does explain why in various continuities since he has been a smaller character. FoC Shockwave does my head in.

He should be bigger/more powerful than every character he engages with. Despite any concerns people have over scale from cartoon, IDW or anywhere else, I think Prime should glare over him like a righteous red tower block.

See, I never saw Prime as bigger than all the rest. I always assumed he was the same size. He never struck me as a character that was particularly bigger/taller (ie Bulkhead and Magnus)

He never struck me as a character that was particularly bigger/taller (ie Bulkhead and Magnus) I don't mean bigger as in terms of simply size or height. He was always grander, more righteous, more intelligent., more subtle. He's better than everyone, he's always right and he's always willing to get involved but knows when to sit back and instruct others. He's the best of the best and he knows it.

It's interesting how different people have different perspectives on the characters. When I think of Prime squaring up to Shockwave it's this that I see: That struggle in the early issues with Prime the underdog against Shockwave's superiority... sat in the Ark as a head most of the time. Shockwave is as powerful as Megatron to me, but more calculating, and an equal match for Prime because of his inexperience as a leader.

I've always taken Shockwave to be superior to Megatron but Megatron was better at manipulating others.

I've cancelled my pre-order for Shockwave due to his size. In my eyes, he should be taller than Prime but at the least the same height. I guess I've always envisaged him being tall due to the original toy as well as his first appearances in the comic where he towered over the Dinobots. Due to the colour looking a bit light too, I've decided not to go with it. A bit too much to pay for something I'm not sure of. The 'cartoon accuracy' of some masterpieces recently is going too far sometimes I feel.

I can wait until I see him in the flesh before I rush out to buy him. I don't have MP-10, so I don't really have a scale to go to, but shorter than Soundwave or Grimlock would look a little odd I guess.
As to between him and Megatron, I see Megatron as the better all rounder, only let down by his emotional thinking. Whereas Shockwave isn't as strong or clever, but has patience and will strike mercilessly when he does. Honestly, the old issue that introduced Omega Supreme sums it up perfectly. Megatron may have run into a trap, but that was still better than sitting around being smug while a trap was sprung around them.

Shockwave's height has always been rather inconsistent. For example, in the comics I always considered him stockier than Megs, and since Megs was Prime's height, this kinda works for me.
