What could be the toy range then for the Botcon 2012 convention? they say it could be classic but without any character who's been redone. But are they just stating that for classic line & not including the smaller - Trailbreaker & Brawn have been in legends size. www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/botcon-2012-mockups-done---hints-at-the-set-173275/@generalteknoEDIT : But I expect they are on about DX or higher size toy redo of characters - so they are leaving it for Hasbro to do Trailer Breaker [then Hoist repaint], Brawn & Gears DX toys [not include the Movie toys where we had Gears & Brawn - Windcharger, Hoist, Mirage] So which characters have we not had from 84/85? We've had Optimus, Bumblebee, Prowl, Jazz, Tracks, Wheeljack, Bluestreak [with other name but still Prowl repaint & also done Smokescreen ? ?], Rumble/Frenzy, Starscream etc, Seaspray, Warpath, Cosmos, Beachcomber, Powerglide, Grapple/Inferno, Ironhide/Ratchet, Sunstreaker/Sideswipe. I think that only leaves the Constructicons, Shockwave, Megatron & Laserbeak, Ravage, Skids, Insecticons, Dinobots [bar Classics Grimlock] not done |

Everything from 84 has been done in some form of g1ish update except for Gears and maybe Buzzsaw. Theres a few more from 85, but given Hasbro have been so thorough with those years I'd be surprised to see anything from that early, even 86 seems unlikely, unless its some obscure South American minibot or maybe Broadside.

Is there a Cliff Jumper who isn't just Bumblebee repainted? Because the original Cliff Jumper wasn't a red Bumblebee - he was a different model.

Prime Cliffjumper will be completely new. Animated and WFC got new heads. Even withoput those I'd say the character has been homaged/updated frequently enough not to be a possibility.

that one was repainted as Beach Comber. But the original CJ had spolier on the back of him - I think they are ignoring the Animated one after having the statement "not animated" in the post. So expect to be G1 - with them listing up other year one characters.
Maybe they'll do a New Optimus Prime toy - like we don't get too many of him [joke]

I just can't believe Hasbro haven't done the remaining Dinobots yet - even if it were just one at a time every wave.
My guess is it will be remoulds of existing toys to give us a 'team' from 1987/8/9 like some Headmaster or Targetmaster characters. Or maybe even the Firecons!

Ignoring the SG nature of them (as I did with AMTC last year) then
RTS Ehobby G2 Diaclone Powered Convoy may just be amazing.
Red Tracks - well I keep saying I want Diaclone classics so I cant complain.
Treadshot as long as its the Gen Warpath mould it will be happily added to my Actionmaster collection.
SG Soundwave - I can't help liking this design, as long as the head is designed to account for the head not coming all the way up it will be an improvement on Ratchet and Ironhide and at least have a decent robot mode.
Overlord and Metal Hawk will the ones that swing it though. If they can do Overlord right it will be the greatest achievement. But given the available moulds I'm not seeing it. I'd opt for either Animated Blitzwing or RTS Lugnut, but neither seem like the choice Botcon would make.

Hmm, not bad at all. Running through the option I had wondered if the bludgeon mould could work and I guess it can. The head sculpt looks very good, lots of character in it.

I'm quite bored of Shattered Glass too, the horse is dead, but I can see why FP want to keep doing it, because it is popular, and it is 'their' franchise which they can keep creative control over.
