Yup. When folks were critcising the theme, he was harping on about all the positive feedback. Whoever runs their twitter feed is a bit of a tit. Possibly Cyclonus as Metalhawk. Andy Heard someone else suggest HFTD Terradive.

People wanted LSOTW Overlord, samauri Overlord or any other Overlord was going to disappoint them. As I said elsewhere, the Bludgeon mould has a badass swagger/confidence or whatever you want to call it that Overlord needs. To get a figure that does that I'll trade big guns for big swords no problem.
Petes not been endearing himself to a few people on Twitter it seems. What I read of it he seemed to keep digging himself into a deeper hole when a simple apology and move on would have ended it all much quicker.
At least this year SG will mostly serve as some nice diaclone figures in my collection.

I'd be surprised now to get another voyager in the set. There have been some really good customs using Cyclonus (though a lot go beyond just a new head) and also the Strike jet mould works well. My monies on Cyclonus just because of the amount of time Starscream has been used.

He doesn't seem to have gone down well at all online! Oh the sense of entitlement is rife. Folk who would never have bought it anyway are moaning how shit it is. Or moaning about if it was good they can't have it anyway because it's an exclusive (and thus more expensive). Frankly, Botcon should just ignore online fans entirely. If they do a 'good toy', folk scream the house down. If they do a 'bad' toy, folk scream the house down. They cannot win. And in any eventuality, these are always 'extra' toys aimed at the hardcore fanbase, not toys aimed at kids sold in toy shops, supermarkets, etc. They can be easily ignored. -Ralph

If I had to put my money on anything, I'd say that to the right of Soundwave is Kups head.

Oh, it is shattered glass If it is supposed to be a Classics figure who got repurposed into Shattered Glass, can they not release it as a Classics figure with the correct colour insignia and then if you like you can pretend it is Shattered Glass, rather than vice versa?

People are making a fuss about that but personally if it can't be part of the new head sculpt because it would interfere with the transformation, then making it an optional extra for those who want it makes more sense to me.
Given how ugly the head is I think I'd prefer a tiny paper bag.

Looks fantastically shit. I heartily approve.
That the headband is being sold separately is hilarious. Should come bagged in with it!

They should have moved the white bit behind the head - looking on the Rathcet toy & his head is before the red bit on him. Looks like they had left over stock of Rathcet & just add new head & paint to make Soundwave - he should be grey not white.

My theory is that the headband wouldn't pass safety tests and Hasbro wouldn't want a third party item packaged with their item so Funpub need to sell it seperately. It's much like that key and vector sigma that was sold as a third party item alongside Alpha Trion but as an 'official' add-on

I don't really like the mirror universe theme.
I wonder if there's any particular reason for putting Zartan on Ratchet's door. (Other than FP having the licence for both and so they can.)

He's a music van thing, and Cold Slither was Zartan's evil fake band in an episode of GI Joe, I think it's a rather cool nod.

Ah, I see. I like that, but perhaps it's a bit too obscure for a Transformers toy.

Are they doing the Shattered Glass thing to death or something? In my opinion the answer to that question is "yes", but I've never been particularly interested in the idea of an alternate universe which is for all intents and purposes "exactly the same war just with the toys on opposite sides to the other universe" so I have a slight bias here. And for the record that Soundwave doesn't really thrill me as a toy either... Karl

On the whole SG hasn't been too bad. I'm not that fussed by the mirrorverse concept, but I did think the botcon comic was one of the better ones or at least closer to what I enjoy reading than others. But the toys which are my main interest with no real interest in the fiction behind them have generally been good, with the new SG/Diaclone dual role it just annoys me more than ever that SG Prime wasn't done as Powered Convoys blue cab.
Prime, Goldbug, Ricochet, Megatron, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Rodimus (if you like the mould) were all excellent. Even Grimlock worked better in SG colours. I'm not listing AMTC here because slapping an SG emblem on it doesn't change what it was designed to be.
Most of the rest were only bad due to using poor Armada era moulds.
Magnus and Tracks will hopefully work well as their diaclone forms which I have wanted for years.
So I could easily live without SG generally it doesn't overly bother me as long as decent toys are coming out of it.

Much entertainment value has come from The Great Internet Botcon Backlash of 2011/2012. It's only taken The Fandom 10 years.
