A friend used it 2 weeks back I believe. Hmm. That is annoying. I used the make usb installer option as well and that stuck in the same place. Must be the laptop.

Are you still doing the mad thing of having a browser with like 40 tabs open all the time?

Depending on the content of the pages they will drain resources.

Some are crosstabs. They're have anger management issues.
Windows 10 decided to install the new version to my desktop PC last night, right before I went to bed. It was still showing 17% when I checked at 4am, and went into standby sometime afterwards. It was not happy this morning and spent a ridiculous amount of time rolling back updates and complaining it couldn't work under these conditions.

Does anyone know how to undo a Windows update? Since the latest one, the laptop struggles to open even a single webpage and freezes if it includes video or pictures.

www.dummies.com/article/technology/computers/pcs/undo-windows-update-245419 Press the Windows key + i to open Settings. Choose Update and Security. Click the Update History link. Click the Uninstall Updates link. The Control Panel's Installed Updates windows appears. It lists all updates that Windows monitors, which includes Windows updates as well as updates to specific programs. Choose the update you want to undo. The updates are categorized by program and then by date. Choose the top item in the Microsoft Windows category to remove the most recent Windows update. Click the Uninstall button that appears on the toolbar. Not every update features the Uninstall button. Minor updates may not show the button. Follow the directions provided on the screen. If prompted to restart Windows, do so. The update should be removed successfully and your system restored. If not, or when the computer won't start, boot the system into the Windows Recovery Environment and enter safe mode. You can also use System Restore to recover from a bad Windows update. If you can't access System Restore in Windows or in safe mode, use the Windows Recovery Environment.

My laptop was unusable last night too, but that's an old one still on windows 7. I connected on my phone in the end. Don't have gallery view but it works so much more smoothly.

This does not sound good. Could you get it in your bag when you next come down?

At what point in the boot does it get to? Can you enter the bios? Does it output anything to the screen?

At what point in the boot does it get to? Can you enter the bios? Does it output anything to the screen? It didn't do a thing. My general all purpose Dutchman took a look at it and got round it by disconnecting the battery, which we knew was in poor health anyway. Laptop starting OK now but Mousepad refusing to work. Machine properly backed up now Just In Case....

I was going to suggest removing the battery entirely. If the mousepad has now stopped working, it's possible the hdmi has caused a short circuit and borked something.
