MTF SLUDGE!
Superb figure. Robot mode in particular is lovely. Dino mode suffers from a short neck and a big bum, but is very qute. Transformation is a bit over complicated to be honest, but is ok. His Dino head goes into his legs, which is an interesting change to the Sludge transformations we're used to (Grimlock's head goes inside his body, forgot to mention that).
Need the others to arrive! Never had a full set of Dinobots before! Fitting I have just Grimlock and Sludge for a while though, as they were the only Dinos I had a child.

Friday AND new toy. Life is good. Transform Element Op Leader in the house! Been waiting on the reissue of this for aaaages. Eager to bust this fella out and compare him to the FT quality standard.

MTC Rover arrived this morning. Not transformed him yet, but he looks so good. A better Generations Streetwise than the CW guy, if I'm honest.
I need to have all the Streetwises. There isn't many, right?

MFT Slag and Snarl!
Arrived yesterday. I have a complete set of Dinobots for the first time! Though Swoop is in storage. I got Swoop last year to go with my MP Dinos, but he was just too small. BUT NOW HE WILL BE REBORN INTO MY COLLECTION IN TRIUMPH! (My only concern is Swoop is the blue body shiny version, whereas the MFT Dinos I've been collecting are the 'animation' non-shiny versions, which I think looks better at this scale. I hope he goes with the others style-wise!)
But anyway, Slag and Snarl! Again the robot modes are superb. Plastic is good. Transformation is again over complicated. Especially Slag's legs into Dino mode. Bloody nora what a fiddle! But generally Slag is a winner. Snarl's robot mode is perhaps the best of the lot! But his Dino mode is the weakest. He's kinda, I dunno, wedge shaped. Flat. Over-wide. With a large gold bottom and a too-wide head. But despite that he remains a good figure, and my first ever representation of the character Snarl!
THE BABY DINOBOTS ARE COMPLETE!

So hold on, set of five dinos for Legends scale - is that four MFT ones and a Swoop from which line?

So hold on, set of five dinos for Legends scale - is that four MFT ones and a Swoop from which line? It's the MFT Swoop. ...I think... Yes, yes I'm sure it is. But the kind of 'toy accurate' colour scheme, not 'animated' colour scheme. Shiny.

You get home... after a busy day at the swamp... memorising amongst other things the Caldicott principles, as you do...
To find, NOT ONE, BUT TWO PARCELS!!! (and a moderately cross Mrs Shockprowl...)
THIS MOMENT HAS BEEN PREPARED FOR...
BABY MEGATRON... AND BABY OPTIMUS PRIME!
(That's 3P 'Legends' scale Megatron and Optimus Prime for those of you who aren't fluent in eight year old)
I did the research, and am confident I've chosen the correct representations. Let's see...
First, LOST PLANET ZERO MEGOTROUN.
Nice. Solid. He's a chunky death 'bot 'n'no mistake. All your regular Megatron accessories, including Key to Vector Sigma, mind control helmet, Kettle Witch grinning spare face, stock, silencer, mace, Hot Rod's an idiot laser pistol, and iconic arm canon! Everything a Megatron fan needs. He's superb. I haven't transformed him yet, but he's just so solid (crew).
And now, the one I agonised over for some time. IT'S TIME TO PLAY: WHICH PRIME!!!
I went with-
HOT SOLDIERS GENERAL COMMANDER PROP SKY PILLAR. (I mean, I had to for the name alone...)
And guys...
Guys.....
He's fucking amazing.
HOW THE SWEET LORD OF ALL THAT'S HOLY AND TRANSFORMABLE CAN THEY FIT ALL OF THIS INTO SUCH A SMALL FIGURE?!?!?! (I know, I'm inviting some kind of rude comment from The Hub Slut there, but...).
I can't believe how good this figure is. He is OUTSTANDING. He's a mini Masterpiece. He's just sublime. He comes in truck mode, nostalgically G1, and the transformation is brilliantly simple. Really solid feeling figure. He looks PERFECT. And don't worry chaps, he scales perfectly with not only Megatroun, but also my other babies, as the per the research. An utterly stunning figure. The inside of his trailer is perhaps a bit bare, but that really is taking nit-picking to new lows. You get a removable Combat Deck, axe, blaster rifle, Roller, and a mini Matrix. But the best thing about him is how he looks. Perfection. I strong recommend this figure.
Megatroun (heh, reminds me of 'Dia-cloooooon') was a give-away at 17 pounds delivered. There is the AMAZING looking Newage version coming out, which I am still considering, simply because he looks so beautiful. But I have heard reports he's shorter. Which obviously wont do. If that does turn out to be the case (and even if it doesn't!) I could not be happier with this representation of baby Megatron.
General Commander Prop Sky Pillar was more, err I forget, 30 pounds I think, I'll have to look it up. Around 30. BUT HE'S WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
Babies are nearly complete....
Just one fairly CRITICAL character to go....

That Megatron does look good, maybe a little more boxy than the New Age one, but if that's too short then this works. The Hot Soldiers Op looks a cracker.

I had the fear that Spoiler would be too thin from the side having seen the pictures online, but he's fine. In fact for what is probably the most bland of the Stunticons, this is a really nice figure. Lovely sparkle in the blue that isn't too OTT but gives a premium feel. Basic for an FT release - just a gun and an alternate face - but still has the heft and quality you'd expect. So big though. Over 8 inches. As teams these FT combiners really are going to look awesome.

It's like the most expensive partwork ever. They alternate one from each team month by month.

Reformatted Spartan arrived today. I'm behind on third party stuff (I've not had disposable income much in the last decade or so) so some TFN profits were spent on him.
I approve. He's a nice sturdy fellow.
I'm going to need to keep an eye on ebay for the rest of my backlog now.

The Conjunx managed to pick up a set of the Iron Factor Vos and Kaon (can't remember what names they're sold under) in Singapore. Whilst they're unsurprisingly very fiddly indeed, they also seem a lot more sturdy in hand than previous figures of this size, which is a nice, pleasant surprise. Was a bit disappointed to discover that the bulk of the combined form was kibble that also came with this package, but ah well.

Mystery panel in the Winged Dragon box... Can't figure out where it's detached from!? Don't think it's snapped off from anywhere. edit: It's ok, it was from the inner calf. edit2: Gosh dang that was hard work attaching the tail onto the back of the head. Unattached slightly softer plastic ball joint, the socket having been metallic painted was a little smaller than maybe it should be. Still, folding the helmet up out of the way of the wings allowed me to get my hands into a safe position to exert enough force. The dragon neck also came unattached as you can slide it off and attach it to the outside of the arm to give you a two armed figure, honouring the appearance of G1 Megs (despite being the wrong arm). The slot it attaches with on the elbow is a little difficult to access but manageable. There are a few plastic molding issues in minor hidden places, but looking good nonetheless. Robot mode has minor kibble on the back (dragon chest plate which covers one of the dragon arms - although with smaller dragon arms they both could have fitted inside the main torso cavity, but this might have ruined dragon mode proportions). Main limb joints are stiff, really good ratchets everywhere. Some of the foldable pin joints for panels etc. are very stiff, again likely due to the metallic paint. Looks ruddy marvelous though. Was worried it would seem too big in the flesh, but actually feels just about right. I look forward to getting it into dragon mode at some point.
