Unfortunately no-one from IDW had told Alex Milne this and he found out at the SDCC announcement!!!
EDIT: Apparently he knew about the alternating artist team but had thought he was doing issue 1 and starting it off

Having just caught sight of a news story elsewhere and be disappointed to discover it was for the new film I wonder about the wisdom of renaming this title "Lost Light" when the similarly sounding "Last Knight" is coming out.

That's a good point. Although I thought it was a bad idea having two main characters in the last film called Lockdown and Grimlock. It also makes you wonder (with the recent Hot Rod reveal) if this is the reason Rodimus doesn't seem to be sporting his signature colours anymore in the new comic series.

IDW's December Solicitations including Lost Light 1: www.cbr.com/locke-key-returns-more-tmntbatman-in-idws-dec-2016-solicits/Transformers: Lost Light #1
James Roberts (w) • Jack Lawrence (a & c)
Five years ago, Rodimus and a collection of traumatised, lovelorn and/or sarcastic Autobots set off on a quest to find Cyberutopia. So far, they’ve made a right hash of it. They’ve misplaced their map. They’ve lost their ship, the Lost Light, to a mutinous escapologist. Oh, and they’re dead.

W-why would I want to pre-order a digital comic? Do you get them sooner?
Are they likely to run out of electrons???

OK it's a matter of how fast you can click but.... I preorder my comics where possible for financial planning.

Like that new Movie themed cover that has been up since yesterday - but why is there always so much hate for IDW from americans? they attack more IDW as an whole compared to Geoff Senior & Livio who they also don't like

Good art from Jack on first issue. Nice to see the functionist universe back but I don't have much hope for it being played out as some serious sci-fi now that The Gang and all their associated 'quirky/fun' human culture traits have arrived there. Will pick up the next issue though and see how it plays out.

Finally read it, worth the wait. Art was great.
Did anyone else get a CG2 vibe on some of the panels?

We have an official comic written and drawn by TMUK members. What a time to be alive!
I found the story to be a bit disappointing to be honest. There's nothing wrong with it per se, but it reads more like a delayed epilogue than a new chapter.
