Feeling in a reasonably resilient mood I decided to check in on Lost Light threads on some other boards. They were awful of course, but I did come across a gem which leads to interesting speculation Getaway - agent of Tyrest? (this was the theory I saw on the Allspark)
Or actually Tyrest?
He seems to have the same goal. He's friends with Star-Saber somehow. He's increasingly nuts. Some kind of Straxus-like mindswap?
I went to TFWiki as I couldn't remember Tyrest's fate (for some reason I thought he was dead), and it seems like his last act was an escape from a locked room - a clue?

I don't think they can be one and the same: we've seen them together at one point, and separate but doing things simultaneously.
You Know Who showing up last week does imply a connection between the two though.

Only theory I currently hold: {Spoiler}Riptide has been Shadowplayed to be immune to the nudge gun. First Aid checked the back of his head for where he was shot and went silent momentarily, probably because he noticed the telltale puncture wounds on the neck. So SOMEONE predicted this whole mess.

You Know Who showing up last week does imply a connection between the two though. I need to go back and re-read the relevant issues, but my idea is rather than one-and-the-same maybe there was an opportunity for a mind-swap at some point, and the escaping Tyrest wasn't Tyrest at all. It's almost certainly wrong but I like how it accounts for our Getaway's behaviour!

Covers for Lost Light 15 are in circulation and do look rather spoilerific

But is it a theme cover or story cover?

It's a character cover that reveals who a mystery character is.
But I think we'd all expected it, so no biggie.

Is it a spoiler to reveal that a character will be in an issue? If feels more like an appetiser to the story, particularly given that we saw them in LL#9. I'm not sure I want the alternative where the cover art is completely unrelated to the content.

Mixed feelings about #13, really liked some stuff but disliked other parts. It seems that lots of people online are really taking Tailgate's "death" completely at face value? I mean, real people who seem otherwise intelligent and who are presumably not new to the basics of serialised genre fiction?
I'm still ploughing on with my Getaway-is-Tyrest theory, and with this issue I'm going to go with Ten-is-Getaway. I'm 90% sure I am going to look stupid, but theorising on these things is half the fun...

Can you elaborate on this theory?

Can you elaborate on this theory? I won't pretend it's anything like watertight... Getaway is behaving crazy evil, he's on surprisingly good terms with Starsaber, and is fixated on getting to Cyberutopia - has a lot in common with Tyrest! He's placed very conveniently with the other Autobot captives when we first meet him, but I don't recall seeing him make any great escapes - he was set free from his Lost Light confinement, for example. He also doesn't much care for Tailgate, who defeated Tyrest's first plan.
So my theory is some kind of mind-transfer ala Straxus / Megatron. I'm now wondering if the real Getaway escaped into Ten and has been hiding in plain sight all along.
Second, less complicated theory - he was turned to Tyrest's cause either willingly or by brainwashing, and we will soon be seeing Tyrest, Pharma, et al again.
I'm not too bothered about being right or not, I just enjoy this kind of theorising! It was one of the few remaining good things about Lost when it went off the tracks. Unfortunately almost any theory turned out to be more interesting than where Lost went in the end.

Jim's theory: tfwiki.net/wiki/Getaway#IDW_Generation_1_continuityWe know nothing about Getaway prior to MTMTE aside from his appearance in Spotlight Blaster and information that came from Getaway himself, and in light of what follows he has to be considered an unreliable witness/narrator. Our entire story that he was partnered with Skids only comes from him, and Skids' memory loss leaves us unable to verify the story Jim admits there's holes in his theory notably that we saw Getaway and Tyrest at the same time. However I like the idea that Getaway was turned by Tyrest, maybe with the temptation of his goal of becoming a Prime and then planted into Rodimus' group with a cover story that couldn't be verified. Or he could have been telling the truth and has just been an arse all along. But allying with Star Sabre does imply that there is an unrevealed link with Tyrest

Meanwhile back to 13: I'm not taking Tailgate's off panel death at face value at all.
If he is dead though, it feeds into a theory I have that James is going somewhere with something involving what happens to Transformers when they die. He's killed off Pipes, Trailbreaker, Skids, Ravage & maybe Tailgate so far....

I am astonished that people are, and I doubt Roberts intended it to be.
I can't see them undoing Pipes and Trailbreaker, and I doubt they would Ravage either, but there's still something left to Skids' story and the Nautica thing a few issues back left some dangling threads. What happened to his brain at the end of it?

I just feel the deaths are leading somewhere with exploring TF deaths, where they go when they die and possibly how they're reincarnated.

Yes, I could imagine the last issue, or last pages, of Roberts' run being a bit like the end of the Lost finale with the main/departed characters in the after-life

I expect the first few issues of Lost Light should see print in the Uk soon with us getting the issue before it out, Then I'll see whats going on. So it the team trapped somewhere & the colours being different (avoiding reading story plots)

Shame the next issue solicite seems to kill the end of this one. That's what I thought. {Spoiler}Unless it's a deliberate part of a double twist and they are actually dead. After the Tarn red herring, this could happen.
